Sodexo is seeking a Portable Equipment Manager 1 to support Cone Health in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Cone Health is a private, not-for-profit, healthcare delivery system based in Greensboro, North Carolina. It includes Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Wesley Long Hospital, Women's Hospital, and Cone Health Behavioral Health Hospital all located in Greensboro. The Cone Health network also includes Alamance Regional Medical Center, Annie Penn Hospital, MedCenter High Point, MedCenter Kernersville, MedCenter Mebane, and a wide range of Cone Health Medical Group physician practices.


The Manager 1 will be responsible for supervising a team of Patient Equipment Management Solutions (PEMS) Technicians across multiple client locations and multiple shifts. The PEMS program serves the client health system by providing safe and clean patient medical equipment to nursing floors on a 24x7x365 schedule.  As nursing interaction is constant with the PEMS Technicians, this team serves as the face of the  Healthcare Technology Management program for the health system. 

The PEMS program is responsible for:

  • Receiving requests for medical equipment
  • Delivering the devices to the patient care area
  • Recording the use of the medical equipment to the client billing records system
  • Collecting and retrieving the medical equipment from patient care areas
  • Cleaning/disinfecting all medical equipment covered under the PEMS program between patient uses
  • Supervising medical equipment rental requests covered under the PEMS program

Position Summary

Provides management oversight for Environmental Services non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place as required to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for non-exempt work force planning through effective scheduling, development of daily work flow assignments, training and development, and monitoring for compliance to the plan.Key Duties-Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexo safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory maintenance.-Provide leadership and direction to non-exempt employees-Coordinate/conduct employee training-Administer Human Resource processes (hiring, performance reviews, constructive counseling, prepare work schedules, payroll, etc.)-Interact with outside vendors-Ensure Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place and consistently met.-Develop/implement action plans for improvement in compliance with Sodexo Operating Standards as identified. -Reviews and maintains assigned areas of the Sodexo/Client budget commitments.
