Positions in this function drive clinical relationships and engagement with health care provider practices and members, with the goal of ensuring receipt of EPSDT, and maternal and postpartum services, including the promotion of preventive health strategies, and family planning services. The successful candidate will interface with community partners, as well as collaborate internally with departments such as Clinical and Behavioral Health Quality, Healthy First Steps, Member Outreach, Marketing, and Health Services, to improve enrollee health outcomes, as well as quality and practice performance while reducing medical costs. Positions are accountable for the full range of clinical practice performance which may include but is not limited to improvement on certain HEDIS and Non-HEDIS gap closures, coding accuracy, facilitating effective education and reporting, and proactively identifying performance improvement opportunities through the use of data analytics, technology, workflow changes and clinical support.

the state of Louisiana.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and facilitate assistance for member needs specific to maternal/child health and EPSDT
  • Create and present quarterly executive summaries on performance data such as the CMS Form 416 EPSDT report
  • Provide culturally competent educational resources for health care provider facing staff on EPSDT and related Population Health
  • Educate health care providers in their office, and via electronic communication channels, on clinical measures and EPSDT
  • Maintain policies and procedures, as well as work plan for EPSDT
  • Participate in Performance Improvement Projects, and performance measure campaigns as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted RN licensure in the state of LA
  • 3+ years clinical nursing experience
  • Experience presenting to others
  • Proficient with in a Windows environment, utilizing Outlook and advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to create spreadsheets in Excel
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with provider offices
  • Clinical nursing experience in managed care environment
  • Experience working with the Medicaid/Medicare Population
  • Comfort with reading and writing reports and analyzing data
  • Experience with EPSDT
