This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8 hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (7am 330pm or 8am 430pm EST). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 200 Regency Charlotte, NC.

Primary Responsibilities:

    ""
  • Resolve claims problems with insurance carriers using all available resources
  • ""
  • Work to follow-up on accounts until zero balance or turned over for patient collection
  • ""
  • Refer to coding and compliance department for assistance with denial resolution
  • ""
  • Utilize available tools to keep accounts receivable current
  • ""
  • Review claim payments for accuracy and compliance
  • ""
  • Learn medical specialties specifically assigned
  • ""
  • Gathering information needed to complete billing process from operational areas, including physicians
  • ""
  • Answers billing correspondence answer telephone calls and follow up on requests for information
  • ""
  • Provide feedback to providers and operational staff regarding denials, payments, coding, etc.
  • ""
  • Obtain updated provider information for billing purposes and forward as necessary
  • "

Required Qualifications:

    ""
  • An education level of at least a High School Diploma or GED (or higher) OR equivalent years of working experience
  • ""
  • 2+ years of medical billing and claims processing practices/procedures experience.
  • ""
  • Proficiency with Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate multiple programs and learn new and complex computer system applications
  • ""
  • Ability to work a 40 hour schedule within the operating hours of the site (7:30am - 5:00pm)
  • ""
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
  • ""
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders
