Position Summary
A Member of the Payroll team that will ensure accurate processing and recording of companys payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information and participate in daily data entry payroll processing.

Job Requirements


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process biweekly payroll for multiple multi-state healthcare facilities while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Assist in managing workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Responsible for processing the more challenging and complex facility payrolls as well as assisting in payroll transition projects
  • Adheres to all state and federal regulations for payroll processing
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Execute Kronos time and attendance processing when necessary and perform interface with Lawson payroll
  • Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.)
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Prepares and distributes manual checks when necessary
  • Research and resolve payroll issues
  • Read and understand employee contractual payroll agreements
  • Sets up employee direct deposits and coordinates Money Network accounts in liaison with corporate treasury department
  • Reports to payroll manager or payroll supervisor with updates and problems
  • Assists in preparing for payroll audits
  • Understands and maintains PTO/ELB and PTO Buy Back leave plan balances
  • Keeps detailed and organized payroll records
  • Ensures pay rate increases, bonus payments and incentives are properly approved prior to payment
  • Explain to employees and managers criteria used to calculate overtime rates
  • Understand the FLSA application to payroll issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned


High School Diploma/GED

3-5 years payroll experience processing multi-state payroll


Working knowledge of payroll best practices

Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations

Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel

Working knowledge of Kronos, Lawson, and Enterprise check request system

Strong work ethic and team player

High degree of professionalism

Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material

Communication Skills:

Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills

Ability to communicate with various levels of management


Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills


A fast paced and challenging position, located at the UHS Nashville Regional Office in Brentwood, TN. Periodic overtime may be required. Physical effort found in normal office environment.
