Patient Tech -PRN

Turning Point Care Center has an opening for aPRN Mental Health / Chemical Dependency Patient Tech for our women's programs. MH/CD Techs play a vital role in providing excellent care for our patients and are a member of the interdisciplinary team who assists in total client care through implementation of appropriate therapeutic approaches.

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

  • Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment.

  • Maintain accurate and complete data and records.

  • Performs observation rounds

  • Communicates therapeutically and age appropriately.

  • Intervenes with suicidal gestures, inappropriate behaviors, elopements, etc., using proper CPI technique.

  • Therapeutically communicate with patients. Assists in developing appropriate boundaries and helps to develop social skills.

  • Directs/redirects behaviors, demonstrating appropriate behavioral consequences. Responds appropriately to impulsivity issues as they relate to age specific criteria.

  • Recognize and communicate the physical and psychological status of the patients under their care.

This position's hours are 5:30am to 6:00pm and days will vary. This positionqualifies for shift differential pay.

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will have:

  • One (1) year experience in a patient related field, required.
  • One (1) year experience with psychiatric, trauma, orsubstance abusepatients, preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalentrequired. Further training/education in behavioral health and substance abuse preferred.
  • Current Georgia Driver's License with: no more than 2 moving violations in the past 6 years; no more than 4 points on record; no reckless driving citations; no more than 1 accident on record for the past 5 years; no DUI or DWI violations.
  • Ability to work varying days and/or nights, including weekends and holidays.
