Partner Product Manager-Americas

The Network Services Business Unit (NSBU) is chartered with developing and accelerating Ciscos As A Service (aaS) and Consumption portfolio of offers. The Partner Product Manager within the NSBU will be a key role in ensuring continued evolution of offers, with specific focus on the portfolio of Cisco Partner offers.

Youll be joining a team that leads partner product management to support our most strategic partners including the worlds leading cloud providers, connectivity providers, ITSM and ISVs, and global device manufacturers. The selected candidate will work with the other Product Managers to identify needs, and help develop and manage the portfolio as it relates to Partners, involving the highest level of decision makers across Cisco and our Partner community. Expertise is required in reliably addressing sophisticated business issues that arise when large companies partner and compete for market share. You will develop insight into partnership opportunities and competitive challenges while establishing deep strategic relationships within Cisco and our major Partners.

As such, we are looking for a seasoned professional to engage in the following strategic imperatives:

  • Develop and execute, in partnership with NSBU product managers, the offer development to ensure partner centricity and support, ensuring tight interlock with the Product Business Entities, Sales, and Global Partner Organization (GPO)
  • Engage with all members of NSBU leadership to ensure review and input to the strategy and its execution for your Region (Americas)
  • Establish engagement and interlock with Global Partner Organization (GPO) to advance Partner and Partner Ecosystem alignment in your respective Region

Pivotal responsibilities are (in addition to the above):

  • Works closely with Product Management Leads and the GTM team, to define, execute, and drive engagements with key Alliance Partners, developing new processes to ensure successful and accelerated engagements
  • Understands the top-level portfolio vision with responsibility for clearly and continuously communicating it back to leadership, key team members, GPO, and partners
  • Understands the portfolio strategy, in support of execution of the vision; maintains tight alignment with other Business Units on cross-BU offers, and Sales and GPO on offer packaging
  • Drives portfolio transformation and navigates competitive offer challenges as they arise; ensuring consistency with partner ecosystem strategies
  • Contributes to assigned portfolio roadmaps ensuring alignment with GPO and ecosystem partners
  • Owns elements of the portfolio pertaining to Partner requirements and therefore portfolio evolution, continuously working to validate and improve the partner offering within the As-A-Service and Consumption offers
  • Collaborates with other product managers to define high-value alliances, cross-solution alignment, and effective packaging of ecosystem partner solutions
  • Drives effective interlock with other teams to ensure the roadmap is understood and stakeholder feedback is considered
  • Investigates and understands customer, partner, and competitive trends, challenges, and needs, and translates data into a future portfolio that delivers measurable outcomes, value, and differentiation to our customers and partners
  • Ensures regional nuances of the partner ecosystem, and ensures they are appropriately incorporated into portfolio decisions and priorities
  • Supports continuous improvement of all processes, methodologies, and services
  • Supports scope and cost modeling for assigned offers, associated with alliance partner offerings included within NSBU portfolio
  • Develops technical and business knowledge as required to meet evolving business requirements
  • Provides flexible support for other NSBU team duties as assigned
  • Proactively communicates with key team members and NSBU business leaders in regard to strategy and execution

Who Youll Work With

The Partner Product Manager reports to the Partner Portfolio Product Manager within the NSBU organization. You will work extensively with the Global Partner Organizations across the Region, including the Strategy & Planning teams. Your extended team includes business leaders from key functions across Cisco, including strategy, product, sales, customer experience, GTM, and operations.

You will also collaborate with Product Management, GTM, Strategy & Operations, Engineering and GPO.

Experienced in business and strategy development and capable of translating strategies into product offers, market analysis, solution conceptualization, negotiation, executive communication, consensus building, problem solving, and ultimately a product management leader with vision.

Ability to be successful in an unstructured, collaborative environment and comfortable with uncertainty and perform well in difficult situations.

A consistent track record of crafting and operationalizing product offers and partnerships in technology, and ability to influence individuals of all levels with a strong executive presence.

Deep knowledge of the Enterprise Networking and Cloud technologies and As a Service and Consumption business models, pricing strategies, and partner go to market disciplines.

To ensure success the Partner Product Manager will possess:

Bachelors degree, or equivalent business experience; Masters Degree or MBA preferred

  • 10+ years in Partner and Alliance program leadership, business and team leadership, Product Management, Portfolio Management, Managed Services and/or Consulting in a complex high-tech, multi-regional environment
  • Experience working with ITSP, ISV, and/or SaaS companies an advantage
  • Meticulous detail and quality orientation, taking ownership for the success of all aspects of assignments whether they are directly responsible for completion or notExperience in process development and improvement
  • A broad understanding of Ciscos Portfolio of products and services, customer base, and organizational structure is helpful, but not required
  • The capability to understand a problem or business need, and then define the detailed project path to address the problem area, all while maintaining understanding of the organizations end-state vision
  • Demonstrated financial and business insight
  • Highly flexible with the ability to lead multiple and opposing priorities
  • Excels working in a very fast-paced environment
