Responsibilities

Perspecta is seeking an experienced Orbit Analyst to join our team.

Responsibilities include providing Orbit Analysis support to the following areas:

  • Perform and report on orbital analyses and trade studies for existing and future overhead SIGINT constellations
  • Coordinate, confirm and recommend adjustments to asset placement to meet current requirements and ensure utilization optimization
  • Utilize tool suites (government provided and in-house developed) to support the positioning of constellations
  • Respond to planner requests for collection potential, creation of data for orbital studies and reports, and support for outreach plans to explain asset adjustments to the community
  • Leverage expertise in orbitology, SIGINT topics, and applicable tools to support customer outreach and training initiatives

Qualifications

Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Experience working in the Intelligence Community, preferably with a strong background in SIGINT and orbital science
  • Expertise with at least one SIGINT discipline
  • Experience in collection strategies, nodal placement, movement plans, and intelligence analysis experience is desired
  • Experience analyzing constellation-level system performance is desired
  • Experience evaluating and developing orbital adjustments to meet operational requirements is desired
  • Experience with SIGINT databases is desired
  • Strong systems analysis skills, with the ability to identify and accurately describe system issues
  • Extensive domain knowledge and demonstrated understanding of user needs and operational environments
  • Familiarity with the collection management processes, specifically the workflow to translate requirements to SIGINT collection tasking, and have a thorough understanding of TCPED process
  • Familiarity with payloads, and capabilities of on-orbit and future SIGINT spacecraft
  • Basic knowledge of RF
  • High degree of computer literacy with ability to rapidly learn complex applications and data tools
  • Familiarity with STK and SOMMS
  • Familiarity with Matlab, C++, C#, Perl, or Java
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; Demonstrated ability to clearly explain technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Customer focused and capable of representing the customer in community forums
  • Demonstrated motivation for learning and deepening of subject matter knowledge base
