Pfizer Oncology Japan (POJ) is the largest oncology market for International Developed Markets (IDM) region with revenues in excess of USD$600M and a significant contributor to the overall success and growth of the Pfizer Japan business. With a broad and expanding portfolio of eighteen products across multiple tumor areas, favorable pricing and access environment, robust healthcare system and strong IP protection, the potential for growth in Japan is significant. This role is responsible for leading a team of over 370 commercial colleagues.

**Role Description:**

The role will lead all aspects of the oncology business and is the single point of accountability for the Oncology P&L in Japan. Directly responsible for sales and marketing functions, the Oncology Lead Japan will also lead cross functional teams that include medical, Development Japan, H&V, public affairs and others to deliver the Oncology revenue and IBT targets as well as drive the growth of the Oncology portfolio in country. The colleague in the role will be responsible for developing an annual and multi - year operating plan and contributing to the broader Oncology strategy across IDM. The Oncology Lead will represent the Oncology business at the country leadership level , in the appropriate in-country collaboration forums and will be part of the Oncology IDM leadership team. The colleague should conduct all activities and makes decisions that are in accordance with Company policies and SOPs, Pfizer Values, and global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP), environment guidelines, as appropriate.

**Key Responsibilities:**

**Operational and Financial Performance**

+ Optimize the performance of the in-country portfolio of Oncology, optimizing the performance of a broad country portfolio, making decisions on country operations and developing short/long term product strategies

+ Develop and execute innovative business strategies/models to maximize revenue, market share, and income growth through modelling excellence in GLocal principles

+ Maximize revenue and IBT performance by rigorously managing an ambitious P&L in alignment with goals, managing expenses , investments and supply , mitigating legal and compliance risks

+ Work with above country Oncology teams to provide strategic / brand / operating plans

+ Ensure launch excellence through development of marketplace and policy in line with pipeline opportunities

+ Optimize access for Oncology assets through excellent stakeholder management and development of strategic initiatives that shape cancer policy across Japan

+ Evaluate, develop and execute short and long term strategies to transform the way we engage patients, physicians and other stakeholders

+ Identification and execution of local business development opportunities through partnership with other pharma companies and life sciences organizations

+ Partner with Medical and Japan Development to drive innovative clinical development strategies and data generation

+ Maximize lifecycle product performance through excellence in aligned and innovative planning and execution

+ In partnership with CM as appropriate, leading the conversation with key oncology stakeholders to strengthen Pfizer position, reputation and purpose through building trust /productive partnerships with governments, regulatory agencies, Pharma industry associations, payers and/or KOL's

+ Approach business with a One Pfizer mindset to optimize results for Pfizer strategy

+ Drive execution of customer strategies and tactics

+ Develop and lead integrated cross functional customer facing teams appropriate to the market needs

+ University Degree, Advanced degree highly preferred

+ A minimum of 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in roles of increasing accountability including but not limited to: global and country marketing brand experience, sales leadership experience and brand launch experience

+ Proven direct and enterprise leadership to deliver business and organizational success through building and inspiring high-performance teams. Minimum of 10 years of demonstrating this leadership is required.

+ Demonstrated ability to partner across functions and with global marketing teams

+ Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, Japanese proficiency preferred but not required

+ Strong ambition and an ability to deliver results by shaping and disrupting the market

+ Understanding of specialty care product market dynamics

+ Strong track record of successful P&L management highly preferred

+ Prior experience with Oncology or other specialty care therapy area is preferred but not essential

+ Broad knowledge and experience of the relevant healthcare and pharmaceutical environment in Japan highly preferred
