Cisco Network Services Orchestrator (NSO) is one of the fastest growing automation software products in the Cisco portfolio.  NSO is in production at the largest service providers in the world and a growing number of large enterprises. As we continue our growth, we are looking for a passionate, curious and motivated individual who understands automation and orchestration technologies and how to apply them to solve real-world problems.  This opportunity is for a product manager to serve as a bridge between what customers want (or will want) and what the NSO engineering team is building.  At its core, this role is about successfully being able to recognize current needs and anticipate future opportunities, assess business impact and synthesize prioritized, actionable guidance to engineering.  The role is San Jose, CA-based and will involve a small amount of travel (customer meetings, conferences, etc).


Primary responsibilities:

  • Maintain expertise on the state of the market: talk to customers and sales, participate in industry events, stay current with analysts and thought leaders
  • Reactively and proactively evaluate and prioritize features, capabilities, and product directions based on business metrics such as ROI, competitive advantage and strategic benefit.
  • Partner with the rest of the product management team and engineering leads to support development lifecycle, including developing user stories and grooming backlog 
  • Track, analyze and report on product traction
  • Support pre-sales and marketing efforts: briefings, customer visits, event support, inform GTM strategy, contribute to collateral development, support tech docs teams

Must have

  • Proven software product management expertise, ideally in an agile environment
  • Strong written and communication skillsability to engage in both technical and business discussion
  • Demonstrated ability to balance tactical demands with strategic goals
  • Effective at influencing peers and stakeholders

Nice to have

  • Business analysis skills
  • Experience working with distributed and virtual teams
  • Scrum Alliance certification
  • Experience with automation softwareproduct management, product marketing, development, sales, or end user
  • Active professional social media presence (Twitter, LinkedIn, etc)
