Clinical Performance, a national OptumCare team, is currently seeking an experienced Medical Director to join our growing care transformation efforts. This key executive Physician will provide expertise and leadership on population health and clinical operations. This position leads the strategy, design and implementation of existing and future value-based initiatives and programs.

This is a high-profile, client facing role, requiring collaboration and strong client relationships across all levels of the organization to ensure goals are met. This executive physician will be comfortable interacting daily with executives, as well as frontline providers and operational staff. The successful candidate will be able to not only drive value in existing workstreams, but to build expand our portfolio of solutions in other domains. Leadership responsibilities include representing the Affordability Team in senior executive meetings, lead reviews and improvements of clinical programs and processes, and be a financial steward in areas of responsibility.

    • Identifying clinical opportunities that reduce avoidable admissions, readmissions, and other low yield utilization while also improving quality and patient experience

  • Medical Group Leadership Engagement""

    • Lead analytical efforts to identify discrete Affordability opportunities and engage for local stakeholders to prioritize near term modifiable outcomes.

    • Develop customized clinical programs and processes (e.g., high impact clinical pathways that can impact need of hospitalization and increase ER diversion)

    • Proactively work with team to synthesize and communicate findings and bring together multiple stakeholders to execute strategies

Required Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • ""
  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine
  • ""
  • Current unrestricted DEA certificate
  • ""
  • Board certified
  • ""
  • 5+ years of clinical experience
  • ""
  • 3+ years of experience in a management leadership role
  • ""

The salaryrange for Colorado residents is $130,300.00 to $250,200.00.
