The Modeling/Simulation Lead shall:

  • Perform as the contractor lead supporting modeling and simulation (M&S) efforts to drive engineering and operational excellence in the AFCENT enterprise. Recommend appropriate changes in response to tactical and strategic trend analysis derived from network and systems models.
  • Work with government stakeholders to build realistic models of the AFCENT architecture and variants thereof to evaluate the feasibility and impact of architecture changes and/or new technologies.
  • Use M&S tools to develop scenarios for training AFCENT personnel.
  • Develop and run simulations to analyze the impact of technology integrations and changes in network architecture, and validate and verify configuration and security compliance of system and network architectures. Use M&S to support troubleshooting as required.
  • Review technical project documentation for final draft coordination and subsequent release. Includes assisting personnel with project documentation and web site development as needed.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, teammates and other contractors to meet all mission requirements efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide expert technical analysis and direction to optimize mission performance while minimizing program risks.
  • Help ensure program compliance with all government laws, policies and regulations and directives.
  • Institute and maintain industry best-practice standards, processes, and methodologies.


Required experience and qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience supporting federal government programs either in government or as a contractor.
  • 2+ years of experience as a network engineer or enterprise architect.
  • 2+ years of experience developing models and simulations for IT enterprise environments.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or a final TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a lab environment to forecast application, system, and network performance of new services or changes to existing capabilities on a standalone basis and in context with other applications concurrently sharing the same end-to-end infrastructure.
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or other related engineering or technology degree.
  • Hold one or more of the following active certifications: MCP - Server, Firewall, MCSA, CCNP, ITIL Foundation.
  • Security+ CE, CCNA-Sec or other DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.

Desired experience and qualifications; it is desired that the candidate meet one or more of the following experience requirements:

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or other related engineering or technology degree.
  • CISSP or other DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification
  • CCNP or equivalent certification. Higher-level certifications are also desired.
