Responsibilities

Labor Category Responsibilites:

  • Provides modeling and simulation functions or operations such as, but not limited to, exercises, plans, coordination, demonstrations, and instruction
  • Designs seminar, war games, and cyber exercise scenarios, and actively participates to assess the effectiveness of USCYBERCOM existing capabilities as well as new concepts, methods, and tools
  • Develops and employs modeling and simulation decision support tools to map and analyze resource planning and policy decisions by participants during war game events on future cyberspace capabilities and tools
  • Identifies and modifies existing modeling and simulations tools to meet war game analytical objectives and support model-run analysis during the events and post-execution
  • With no guidance, conducts modeling and simulation functions or operations such as, but not limited to, exercises, plans, coordination, demonstrations, and instruction
  • Contribute substantive content to design seminars, war games and cyber exercise scenarios, and actively participates to assess the effectiveness of USCYBERCOM existing capabilities as well as new concepts, methods, and tools
  • With no guidance, develops and employs modeling and simulation decision support tools

Task-Area Responsibilities:

  • Applies modeling and simulations to Department of Defense cyberspace operations program exercises, wargames, and training with a focus on cyberspace operations forces readiness and assessments
    • Devises models and measures techniques; utilizes mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.), and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines.
    • Participates in analysis of customers actual and predictable interacting operational activities to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques
    • Contributes substantive content to design seminars, war games and cyber exercise scenarios, and actively participates to assess the effectiveness of existing cyberspace operations forces readiness and assessments, as well as to new concepts and methods
  • Develops and employ modeling and simulation decision support tools to map and analyze resource planning and policy decisions by participants during war game events affecting future cyberspace operations forces readiness and assessments

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in:
    • Providing modeling and simulation functions or operations such as, but not limited to, exercises, plans, coordination, demonstrations, instruction
    • Leveraging an engineering background, mathematical modeling, and object-oriented software design methodologies and programming
    • Identifying and modifying existing modeling and simulations tools to meet war game analytical objectives and support model-run analysis during the events and post-execution
    • Applying mathematical disciplines to ensure the application of statistical theory to model and pattern for operational cyberspace operations scenarios.
    • Using statistical theory in modeling, simulation, and large data analysis to deliver lasting, measurable improvements to the client organization
  • Ability to:
    • Design seminars, war games, and cyber exercise scenarios focused on cyberspace operations forces readiness
    • Assessment of effectiveness of existing capabilities as well as new concepts, methods, and tools
    • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to develop innovative modeling and simulation solutions to complex cyberspace operations challenges
    • Work with little or no guidance and conduct modeling and simulation functions or operations such as, but not limited to, force readiness, assessments, exercises, plans, coordination, demonstrations, instruction
    • Develop and employ modeling and simulation decision support tools with little or no guidance
  • Understanding of joint cyberspace operations doctrine, policies, and organizations
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Modeling & Simulation Engineer
  • Minimum of Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communications skills.
  • TS/SCI w/Polygraph
