**ROLE SUMMARY**

Senior role leading all Maintenance activities in a Sterile Injectable manufacturing plant. The role is accountable for cost control, leadership, team management, troubleshooting and maintenance technical expertise.



The role will manage employees who facilitate maintenance and utilities functions on a 24/7 schedule. Fosters teamwork and colleague development, as well as change management, within the department. Cultivates and reinforces a culture of Continuous Improvement. The role will be a Champion for the site safety and compliance programs. Provides oversight to individuals and team on personal development to drive high levels of performance. Fully accountable for developing and managing maintenance budget. Provides oversight of the overall department, ensuring proper use of assets, budget, and personnel. Ensures effective and proactive communication with key stakeholder groups (Production Ops, EHS, QO, etc.). Provides technical expertise in support of capital projects. Maintains awareness of new developments in engineering technologies and their application.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



+ Successful application and demonstration of best-practice principles and concepts of Reliability and Maintenance.

+ Ability to execute maintenance concepts in a challenging manufacturing environment.

+ Will be required to have working technical knowledge in sterile manufacturing, packaging, fill/finish, clean utilities (Clean Steam, WFI, RO, HVAC).

+ Must have a working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

+ Must be self-directed and motivated with a high sense of urgency to proactively use technical skills to address equipment and process engineering problems.

+ Must have the ability to identify and execute significant process and equipment improvements in the factory.

+ Problem Solving and Innovation: Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity, innovation, and creativity. Must be able to coach and mentor teams to troubleshoot problems. Must have knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Problem-Solving techniques.

+ Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret, relate and compare data from multiple sources using statistical tools to identify cause and effect relationships.

+ Able to effectively communicate concepts to large groups, senior management and regulators. Ability to clearly present complex technical information to large audiences.

+ Guides the successful completion of major programs and projects -may be in a team or project leadership role. Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. The role will oversee plant-wide major shutdowns and will be accountable for cost, schedule and start up.

+ Ability to contributes to achievement of a team, plant and/or global goals. Must be able to see the 'Big Picture' and ability to see cross-functional goals and objectives.

+ Monitors and manages the efforts of subordinate colleagues to achieve delivery of short-term and mid-term goals. Lead and motivate others, generating commitment and a shared sense of purpose. Empower others to contribute their best. Ability and experience to performance manage individuals and experience in team conflict resolution management.

+ Represents the organization for local, state and federal regulatory and compliance bodies. Must have experience interacting with external auditors (eg: FDA).

+ Must have knowledge of quality management systems and compliance documentation with working knowledge of Commissioning & Qualification, validation, Technical Change Control, Quality Investigations and CAPA.

+ Leads teams of diverse make-up including cross functional departments and colleague levels. Interacts with senior internal and/or external personnel on matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

+ Ability to manage and drive performance in external equipment vendors to benefit the organization. Must understand procurement concepts and be part of contract negotiations, bid selections.

+ Will be required to develop maintenance budgets, presenting budget requests to senior management and managing budgets >2MM.





**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**



+ BS in Engineering (Mechanical/ Chemical/ Civil/ Electrical or Industrial) with 5+ years related maintenance experience required.

+ Experience must include leadership/supervisory roles.

+ Experience in a pharmaceutical / FDA-regulated manufacturing environment. A working knowledge of cGMP and facility/equipment validation requirements.

+ Demonstrated commitment to values-based leadership and achieving objectives in a manner that is supportive of the Pfizer values and leader behaviors. Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.

+ Demonstrated ability to prepare and administer estimates, budgets, successfully present budget proposals and manage functional budgets.

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and a successful track record of managing large projects and programs.





**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**



+ MBA/MS in engineering or equivalent preferred

+ Professional Engineering License preferred

+ Experience in Sterile Injectables preferred





**PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS**



+ Expected to spend a large amount of time on the shop floor or utility areas interacting with production and maintenance colleagues and front-line leaders.

+ Must be able to aseptically gown.

+ This is a penicillin manufacturing facility. Any candidates applying must NOT be allergic to penicillin





**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**

Work schedule is primarily M-F on days, but is in support of a 24/7 manufacturing environment. The role will have team members that must be supported remotely during off hours and weekends. Will be required to come in on off-hours to manage emergencies. Work hours may need to adjust (including nights and weekends) during time of increased production or maintenance activity.
