Independence Physican Management (IPM) was formed in June 2012 to be a separate and distinct physician management unit of Universal Health Services (UHS). IPM is dedicated to the acquisition, employment and recruitment of physicians in communities served by UHS acute care facilities. Additionally, we provide management and billing services to our behavioral health division. We are the comprehensive physician services arm of UHS providing expertise to both employed and independent physicians in our markets.

IPM is a wholly owned subsidiary of UHS and all management decisions and contracts are held directly with IPM and its subsidiaries. The mission is to provide superior patient care at our physician clinics through dedicated leadership responsible for all management oversight and contracting authority for our aligned physicians. The separate structure with committed practice management knowledge also provides liability protection from regulatory concerns and ensures appropriate relationships within our integrated networks. The end result is a division with focused expertise in the areas of practice management and development, managed care contracting and credentialing, strategic planning, financial and budgeting oversight, recruitment, on-boarding of new physicians and support services dedicated to the operational excellence of our employed practices.

Job Description:The Human Resources Manager provides on-going Human Resources oversight and consultation to Operations and Practices. Provides support to the leadership team and staff concerning all areas of human resources, including: performance management, employee relations, recruitment and retention, salary and wage administration, benefit administration, workers compensation, leave management, unemployment administration, payroll administration, orientation and onboarding. Develops, maintains, and delivers education initiatives including management training. Responsible for monitoring and assuring compliance during the processes of recruitment, hiring, compensation, and employment. Assists with strategic planning and development to ensure full utilization of Human Resources to achieve goals. Responsible for developing, overseeing and monitoring activities to improve Employee Satisfaction and Service Excellence.

Job Requirements

Certification/Licensure: Human Resource certification (PHR, SPHR, etc) preferred.

Professional Knowledge: Strong oral and written communication skills; solid HR generalist skills, including experience in recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and employment law. Strong prioritization, problem solving, organizational skills, critical thinking, and leadership skills. Must possess thorough knowledge of the HR standards and guidelines for (not an all-inclusive list) Joint Commission, Wage & Hour, ADA, FMLA, Employment Laws, Civil Rights, and HR policies and procedures and handbook.

Education/Experience: 5-8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources with a Bachelors Degree. Preferably in a healthcare setting.

Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative environment. Promotes mutual respect and professionalism in working relationships. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Must be responsive in managing issues that require timely management/oversight, including maintaining sensitive to employee information and upholding confidentiality. Demonstrated ability of communicating technical information, policies and procedures and employment laws (Federal, State and Local). Customer focused, providing service consistently exceeding expectations to both internal and external customers. Flexible and adaptable and displays positive traits and qualities needed for a successful manager; has the ability to work with changes in the environment and participate as a team player.

Equipment, Applications and Tools Knowledge: Computer proficiency with MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint to include email, spreadsheets, database entry, and use of various of office equipment- PC, copier, printer, scanner.

Travel Requirements: May include local travel.
