The Metrics & Analytics Portfolio Director is responsible for the analytical strategy encompassing the project development data managed and maintained by Project Managers and Planners in GPD PPM, in support of the department's efforts to drive GPD's mission of continuous improvement. This will include:



+ Providing metrics to support Bold Move 2.3 (Cut by 50% our operational cycle times from candidateselection to access and reimbursement by 2021)

+ Designing and executing a comprehensive suite of metrics detailing Pfizer's development project portfolio performance.

+ Development of data visualization platforms for metrics



**Bold Move 2.3:**



+ Maintain the methodology for distinguishing operational ("Easier to Reduce" or "E2R") cycle time from other study conduct & regulatory review ("Harder to Reduce" or "H2R") and direct the corresponding analysis

+ Compile overall composite cycle times across CS-to-FIH, FIH-to-Approval, and Approval-to-Reimbursement segments.

+ Track actual performance changes and projected future changes based on implementation of proposed strategies.

+ Prepare materials, including presentations and whitepapers, for review by Chief Development Officer and consumption by ELT members, including the CEO.

+ Coordinate project work across BM2.3 Segment Leads.

+ Maintain BM2.3 sharepoint hub and execute a comprehensive communication strategy.



**Performance Metrics:**



+ The role will examine current metrics & broaden those that we assess to further our ability to comprehensively assess and communicate GPD's performance over time.

+ In conjunction with the PPM Planning organization, the role will develop an analytical framework for assessing portfolio-wide performance against plan, examining the collected variance of individual projects against planned dates.

+ The position will integrate and rationalize efforts with other deliverables across Pfizer and seek to provide a comprehensive offering across the full development spectrum.

+ The role will include assessing appropriate external and internal benchmarks against which to measure performance

+ Additional performance metrics may include life-of-project performance vs planned budget (in conjunction with Finance) and portfolio volume assessments.

+ Collaborate on designing and producing a data package that provides comprehensive information regarding the progress of Pfizer's submission process improvement efforts.



**Data Visualization Platform Development**



+ Build and manage data platforms that facilitate the use of cycle time metrics to manage operations and drive performance gains, including in the areas of CS-to-FIH and Submission.

+ The position will build upon a platform in place for measuring clinical, submission, and approval cycle times. The role will further develop the platforms capability for metrics collection & display, and broaden the utilization of these data by stakeholders.

+ Coordinate with partner functions to develop tools & processes to collect data for Pfizer assets.

+ Establish steady-state operation of the performance measures, providing timely availability of accurate data

+ Develop portfolio tools, processes and reports to assist Project Managers, Planners, Asset Team Leaders, and other partners in managing programs and portfolios.



**Portfolio Intelligence:**



+ Utilizing the capabilities put in place, the Metrics & Analytics Portfolio Director will compile, analyze, and publish portfolio insights to detail GPD's performance in delivering the portfolio.

+ Portfolio insights will include briefs that analyze key findings, materials for presentations by Chief Development Officer, and will include integration & alignment with other Enterprise metrics reports.

+ The Metric & Analytics Director will Identify, recommend and implement process improvement opportunities to ensure optimal portfolio management within the Category.



**Qualifications**



+ Advanced degree preferred (MBA, or Master's level degree in statistics or Data Science).

+ 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years of experience in drug development.

+ Skilled in data management and data visualization techniques and applications.

+ Technical experience and deep/current knowledge of the drug development process.

+ Experience managing a portfolio of projects and delivery on multiple simultaneous workstreams.

+ Demonstrated success in negotiating the environment of a highly matrix-based organization.

+ Track record of delivering individual and team goals exceeding expectations.

+ Ability to synthesize data and information from multiple sources to assess and analyze portfolio progress and performance, and recommend process improvements.



**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**

Conditions permitting, occasional travel may be required.
