Principal Member of Tech Staff


Overall Purpose: Applies advanced engineering and scientific knowledge to architecture, design and development work in a Research and Development environment for high-value technology and solutions tied to the strategic direction of the company. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Conducts design and development work in the areas of new products/technologies, systems/platform architecture, hardware/software development engineering, technical security and QA Design/Certification. Work must primarily involve new and emerging technologies and technical architectures on projects with a status between inception and implementation/software maturity. May serve as subject matter expert during the continuous integration/continuous deployment cycle in a production environment focused on complex design, engineering and development. Job Contribution: Expert level technical professional. Advisor on technical knowledge and AT&T technologies. Exceptions require Board Review. Experience: PhD in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or Masters in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Supervisory: No. Environmental Requirements: This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T's compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
