The Internal Medicine Medical Manager is responsible to maintain expert subject matter knowledge in the relevant therapeutic areas such as Thrombo-prophylaxis, CV, Pain, Women health care and CNS. Also manage all customer facing medical affairs activities and will be responsible for the development and consolidation of a network of long-term peer-to-peer relationships with a variety of key external stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, and other healthcare professionals. Have highly developed communication skills and be responsible for generating, supporting and enhancing scientific communication between Pfizer and Health care professionals. While doing so uphold Pfizer's commitment to high standards of conduct in all its dealings with the medical profession.

The role participates in cross-functional medical affairs activities that support the incumbent portfolio, including medical-marketing support for new and existing products, provision of technical/medical/scientific input for regulatory and market access initiatives, and leading internal training of commercial partners. This role also contributes to the development of the country medical and marketing brand strategy, and medical operation plans for in-line and pipeline products.



Full involvement during the setup of the new products, working in conjunction with the Strategic Planning area.

Collaborates during the product launching process, including his/her participation in the Strategic Planning New Product meetings.

Collaborates with marketing manager in designing the marketing campaigns through out of the year.

Provides medical and scientific knowledge during the development of Promotional Materials and/or activities of the Pfizer products of the therapeutic area assigned.

Reviews and validates the scientific contents of the activities sponsored by Marketing and of the Added Value programs, together with the Product Manager.

Maintains a close communication with Medical Associations, Ministry of Health and Academic Institutions for the follow-up of projects of the Medical and Marketing Areas, including Continuing Medical Education Programs.

Develops together with Key Opinion Leaders material for the scientific presentations of the products entrusted.

Communication management to Sales Force, Media, Opinion Leaders for the Continuing Medical Education Programs.

Select and coordinates the participation of speakers in the Continuing Medical Education Programs where the products entrusted are promoted.

Participates during the training of the Sales Force, Media, regarding the medical-scientific concepts applicable to the Pfizer products of the assigned therapeutic area, including validation of training material.

Maintains close communication with the regional medical team members of the assigned therapeutic area, actively participating in teleconferences and in the annual meetings.

Provides input and feedback, and collaborates in Market Research activities.

Provides medical and scientific support to Corporate Affairs area in relation to public dissemination of the Pfizer products of the assigned therapeutic area.

Advisory Board and speaker training coordination

Periodic outings with sales force in their daily calls.


Reviews/validates and approves the updated Local Product Documents (LPDs) and Package Inserts of assigned products in accordance with the corporate information and with Local Regulatory requirements.

Supports the Regulatory Affairs Department during the process of product registration in the country, including the preparation meetings for it, with the Regulatory Authorities.

Prepares the Medical and Scientific information that will be submitted to the national, local and regional government formularies and listings

Coordinates the preparation of Medical and Scientific documentation to include new therapeutic indications (if required) together with the Regulatory Affairs and Medical information Departments, these will guarantee that the Product Information is consistent with the LPD (Label Product Information), IPI, SmPC, USPI; as well as adherence to Pfizer SOPs.


Gives support to the Medical Information Center providing the necessary information on Pfizer products of the therapeutic area assigned as required


Complies with Training Curricula.

Attend all the required training meetings according to the established timelines.

Knowledge and full participation on the Inspection Readiness Process and the applicable procedures before, during and after audits or regulatory inspections

Additional advanced degrees in the therapeutic area will be a plus.5 or more years of combined clinical practice and medical affairs experience in similar positions in the pharmaceutical industry. **OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND HABILITIES:** Fluid written and spoken English is required. Medical knowledge of the assigned medical area of the products entrusted. Capacity to prepare presentations and make public speeches Ability for teaching and training Abilities in negotiation and effective communication Excellent abilities in strategic and interpersonal influence. Knowledge of the scientific, ethical, regulatory and legal aspects that norm the conduction of research trials in human beings. Handling programs common electronic tools, computer programs and Internet.
