"Use your sharp business skills to assist in end-to-end business process"activities by creating, controlling and improving business processes by"assisting in process design, project implementation for improvement activities,"diagnosing process improvement opportunities and develop solutions using"principles of process excellence and related tools. Also assists in quality"reporting, analysis, audits, developing plans and programs to support"continuous quality improvement using a variety of applicable tools.

"Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages day-to-day and"production operations for a team of 30-40 medical coders
  • Develops procedures to"increase departmental accuracy and efficiency through prompt identification and"resolution of routine and complex production issues
  • Assesses, evaluates and"addresses daily workload and queues
  • Analyzes productivity of"medical coders compares productivity to capacity plan. Identifies variances and"implements proactive solutions to mitigate risk
  • Responsible for quality"monitoring activities including identifying areas of improvement and plan the"implementation of improvement areas
  • Functions as"department's liaison and contact / resource person for providing client issues"and problem resolutions
  • Creates competencies for"coders; identifies training and development opportunities for coders
  • Incorporate feedback"from operational, financial and QA reports to improve performance

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of leadership"experience
  • 2+ years of experience"working in a remote team setting
  • 2+ years working in an"Operations/Production environment
  • Intermediate level MS"Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using"the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive"VoiceResponse (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a"similar UnitedHealth Group approved symptom screener prior to entering the work"site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and"local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building,"employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot"be attained
  • You will be asked to perform this"role in an office setting or other company location, however, may be required"to work from home temporarily due to space limitations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in"business, life science, health administration or related field
  • Coding certification to"include the following: CPC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT
