What You'll Do

Messaging, story telling and content development genius, you have the fun and creative opportunity to craft the value proposition, story, message and content for Cisco DevNet, Cisco’s developer community. Whether we are launching a new feature, or working with a business unit to find the developer angle of their product launch, you will think outside the box, innovate, get wildly creative and insert wit and humor into your creations!

  • Translate technical solutions into exciting business benefits and outcomes for the developer audience.
  • Distill complex technical functionality and features into effective, succinct business benefits with a human touch.
  • Develop user journeys and work with other business units to insert Cisco DevNet Messaging into larger Cisco launches
  • Work with Cisco DevNet leadership to launch new features to build developer community
  • Develop solution videos, infographics, presentations, solution briefs, and other sales enablement content.
  • Conduct market research on various aspects of industry solutions to build successful messaging.
  • Assist the team with authoring thought leadership pieces through engaging content in professional journals, white papers, blogs, trade magazines and other publications. Help convert dry prose into an engaging narrative for the audience.

Who You Are

  • You have 10-12+ years of experience with messaging development including creating messaging playbooks/messaging trees with a large technology
  • You have strong understanding of the software developer audience (preferred)
  • Story-telling and content building experience in visual, written and multi-media formats.
  • Experience in distilling down complex, nuanced concepts into simple succinct compelling messages.
  • Experience with building persuasive story boards, screen plays, and video/audio scripts.
  • You have previous experience with directing/building content for long format (15-20 mins), medium format (2-3 mins) and short format (20-60s).
  • Ability to bring out the ‘aha’ moments in the solution narratives working either on your own or in partnership with product marketing.
  • You have a strong understanding of developer audience, their care abouts and motivators
  • You have experience in targeting solution plays and content to networking and developer audiences
