The Client Strategies Group (CSG) at Edward Jones is focused on developing a profound understanding of prospective and current clients needs, in order to create an unparalleled experience. As a Marketing Data Analyst, you'll have the opportunity to bring to life Client Insight that supports defining and enabling the future state Edward Jones Client Experience. This position plays a critical role in ensuring we are spending our media and marketing dollars in the most effective way to attract new clients to Edward Jones. You'll work with leaders across Marketing and our agencies to champion how data and insight can improve the effectiveness of our media spend, operationalize KPI's and support the definition of the prospect to client experience. You will monitor the competitive landscape to develop best practices in marketing measurement.


*Key Areas of Focus*

* Own and lead analyses using data, insights and measurement to influence and support performance marketing strategy and align with overall business goals.
* Lead the development and activation of analytic and technology solutions to measure marketing performance and ROI, including multi-touch attribution, marketing mix modeling, and internal data analysis
* Collaborate with stakeholders in paid, owned, shared and earned media and agency teams to define and operationalize KPI's and analytics, leading to optimized spend and funnel conversions
* Monitor competitive landscape and industry standards to rapidly integrate best practices and address evolving privacy regulations in performance marketing measurement.

*Analysis & Insights Development *
* Lead ongoing delivery and presentation of marketing attribution results, insights and related ad hoc requests
* Perform analysis to transform data into actionable insights, inform decision-making and make recommendations for improving / optimizing integrated marketing campaigns and programs toward stated goals
* Develop and implement measurement strategies for short and long-term pilots, national and local programs, and omni-channel campaigns to measure and improve campaign/program performance
* Design, create and deliver custom management-level reports and visualizations for integrated marketing campaigns and programs to measure results, communicate trends and demonstrate business outcomes
* Develop and manage business relationships with marketing strategists, project team members and leaders
* Lead the development and ongoing monitoring of campaign benchmarks, goals and KPIs with project teams to drive accountability for specific, measurable results
* Lead large-scale analytics projects and provide peer review for junior analysts
* Proactively identify new business or marketing opportunities with moderate to broad impact and visibility, propose solutions to relevant parties and drive implementation of solutions with support from leader

*Data, Tools & Management *
* Query and analyze big data from internal databases and marketing channels for marketing research, user identification, campaign targeting and optimization and performance reporting using SQL in various databases or Excel
* Lead IT enhancements to support data onboarding and migration to new data infrastructure, including defining data requirements and analytic use cases, supporting end-to-end testing and implementation and data governance
* Partner with Analytics and IT teams to establish ongoing, secure data transfers between firm and vendors
* Oversee QA and troubleshoot digital tagging implementations to ensure attribution, advertising, analytic and other supporting tags are accurately collecting data for attribution models
* Quickly learn and understand internal client and account-related data fields and tables to define data requirements to support attribution models
* Maintain and operationalize "golden record" copy of data to ensure consistency of results reporting
* Provide consultation and data requirements for new channels, campaigns, vendors, agencies, and internal applications in alignment with marketing's data governance standards and measurement framework
* Proactively identify opportunities to improve data infrastructure, technology, or methodology
* Provide functional and technical subject matter expertise to marketing stakeholders in plain language to help them understand the value of data collection and influence prioritization of data development and measurement initiatives

*Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree in a business discipline such as accounting, finance, statistics, economics, data science, analytics, marketing, computer science (or relevant work experience), MBA preferred
* *5+ years of experience with marketing and customer analytics*
* Experience working in financial services a plus

*Technical Skills*
* Experience with or willingness and ability to quickly learn and master marketing mix modeling and/or multi touch attribution methodology to measure and forecast marketing ROI and business impact
* Experience with analysis, measurement, reporting, benchmarking and goal setting for marketing channels and omni-channel campaigns, such as website, mobile app, display advertising, paid search, SEO, direct marketing, social media, email, native advertising, video.
* Understanding of tag management platforms, tagging implementations and QA process
* Experience with A/B and multivariate testing and improving performance through optimizations
* Proficiency with advanced Excel formulas, tables, charts, pivot tables, macros, VBA
* Experience with marketing and customer data identification, analysis, manipulation
* Experience with database query tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, Toad, Hue, Snowflake, and related query languages (SQL, Impala, Hive, etc.)
* Experience with web analytics, optimization and feedback tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Optimize, Contentsquare, Qualtrics
* Familiarity with structured and unstructured databases including EDW, Hadoop
* Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools, such as Google Data Studio, Datorama, Tableau, Power BI

*Knowledge & Abilities*
* Proven ability to educate and influence executives in cross-functional areas to understand and trust analytical methods for measuring marketing effectiveness and integrate into ongoing business reporting
* Proven ability to clearly communicate and translate complex analytical information and gain buy-in to non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
* Proven ability to oversee and manage vendor relationships, provide clear direction, drive accountability, and appropriately escalate to ensure deliverables are achieving business goals
* Ability to work effectively in a complex and maturing data environment with evolving toolsets data sets, databases, and visualization platforms
* Strong desire to learn new tools, skills and contribute to the advancement of Marketing's analytic maturity
