What You'll Do

You will be a Managing Director responsible for leading and executing against sales and go-to-market (GTM) goals for all of APJC (Asia Pacific, Japan & Greater China) in the Global Security Sales Organization (GSSO).  GSSO is the GTM organization accountable and responsible for driving all security sales within Cisco.  This is an incredibly exciting role in one of the fastest growing areas of Ciscos overall portfolio and one that is critical to Ciscos company transformation into software, subscription and recurring offerings.

In this role you will,

       Regional Cyber Security Strategy: Be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing key initiatives that align with Cisco Securitys Global security strategy, but which is fine tuned to the needs of the local APJC markets.  You will build out and drive execution priorities aligned to this strategy for the region

       Cyber Security Team Development: You will continue to build out a world class security team for the region by attracting, developing and retaining high performance cyber security talent in key roles such as Cyber Security Sales Specialists, Technical Security Architects, Security Systems Engineers, Cyber Partner Specialists, Cyber Channel Systems Engineers and Senior CISO Advisors.

       Strategically drive Cisco's end-to-end security vision for our customers: You will inspire our customers to the future of security based on our global strategy, vision and roadmap. You will put this in context of both the customer and the market.  As well as maintaining an in-depth understanding of competitive conditions, industry practices, market opportunities, and customer requirements, you are responsible for bringing the true power of Cisco to our customers. The team you will lead have deep Cyber Security expertise, sell integrated Security Architectures (not point products or solutions) and work very closely with other specialist teams within Cisco to solve our customers business challenges, such as Enterprise Networking, Data Center, IoT and Collaboration.  This role truly leverages the power of Cisco!

       Evolve and Accelerate the Go-to-Market Sales Model: Cisco is on a transformative journey to move from hardware and perpetual business and consumption models to software, subscription revenues and SaaS.  You will be responsible to driving the transformation for Security within the APJC region and therefore it is important that you have experience of driving multiple and highly varied consumption and business models within an overall GTM

       Enable, Upskill and Coach Account Teams: You will lead the enablement, training and coaching of teams to understand cyber security, the Cisco value proposition and how to sell in conjunction with your sales specialists and SEs.  You will help Account Teams through transformation with their customers working with both the GSSO teams and the Cisco Account teams to lead planning/opportunity identification, business relevant/customer value selling, business disciplines and challenger sales strategy.  You will have a keen understanding of the competitive landscape in cyber security.

       Achieve Financial Performance Expectations: Exceeding your bookings goal (by geography, architecture and vertical) is critical as is having an in-depth knowledge into your numbers (customer insights, macro/micro trends, consumption models).  You will be responsible for managing your OPEX goal and maintaining strong forecast accuracy.  You will provide visibility to multiple stakeholders on the opportunities in the region and be responsible for forecasting significant deals accurately as possible.

       True Focus on Collaborative and Inspirational Leadership:  You will focus on contributing to the long-term success of Cisco's Security and APJC Sales organizations by being a collaborative leader amongst your peers, setting the standard, inspiring your teams and striving to constantly improve and reinvent yourself every day. You will motivate, inspire, and continually develop your teams and channel partners while taking on new competitors as Cisco continues to gain market share in security.

Inclusive of its global responsibilities, this is the one of the largest, most visible, and complex roles within Cisco's sales organization, aligned to the company's #1 priority: Security.


Who you are

You will bring:

  • 10 - 15 years senior management experience, should possess both sales leadership and cross functional/general management experience
  • 10+ years in management roles selling solutions to senior executives at large accounts, APJC Sales Leadership Experience Preferred
  • 10+ years in high caliber security organization in a sales environment
  • Demonstrated track record managing significant revenue responsibility and or profit/loss center and overachieving targets to meet stretch goals
  • Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically and effectively communicate vision (both written and verbal) and influence cross-functionally.
  • Adept at balancing intense short-term pressures with overall long-term goals.
  • Strong executive presence, polish, and political savvy
  • Strong leadership skills in coaching and developing a sales organization for 100+ people
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to persuade -- using simple communications that convey complex concepts in a compelling, concise, and creative way.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead in a matrix-managed team culture.
