Individuals in this position are responsible for managing multiple levels of staff within a Long-Term Disability claims team within the United Healthcare Financial Protection Organization. They will effectively and professionally utilize sound judgment, technical knowledge, communication skills, and resources to meet key business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

    ""
  • Set team direction, resolve issues and provide guidance to members of team.
  • ""
  • Monitor and ensure claim activities remain in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and internal service standards.
  • ""
  • Employ appropriate claim management strategies across the team.
  • ""
  • Oversee financial and data integrity of claims.
  • ""
  • Maintain timely and appropriate customer communication.
  • ""
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with internal and external customers to accomplish organizational goals and resolve barriers.
  • ""
  • Support and coach new and existing employees with their development, create consistency, and improve quality audit results.
  • ""
  • Identify trends and training need and work with training department to ensure delivery to address needs.
  • ""
  • Mentor/coach Team Leaders to the level in which this position can provide coverage for the manager as needed.
  • ""
  • Communicate with and help internal and/or external partners interpret contractual requirements to ensure effective problem solution and strategy implementation.

  • Complete other duties as identified by Director of Claim Operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma / GED (or higher) OR equivalent work experience.
  • ""
  • 4+ years of Long-Term Disability claims management experience required.
  • ""
  • 2+ years of management experience required.
  • ""
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel (filter, data entry), Word (working within templates), and Outlook (calendar management and emails)
  • "
