This new high-visibility role directly impacts bottom line growth by leading proposal development for Cox Business most complex pursuits. This is a major growth opportunity to build out and operationalize this new function and expand the team. This role leads a broad range of stakeholders through the full spectrum of proposal activities from pre-proposal preparation to submitting winning proposals.


The individual in this role will manages the intake and production of complex proactive proposals submitted to the Complex Proposal Desk by local market Sales teams and National Accounts, including coordination of proposal team resources and timelines, approvals and proposal packaging. Plays a critical role in helping Cox Business increase the quality and win rate of complex proposals by leveraging best in class proposal assets and solution architectures. Actively manages and continuously improves daily operations of the Complex Proposal Desk. Supports the Strategic RFP Response Team, as needed.


*Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions may include:*




* Manages proactive proposal intake to the Complex Proposal Desk from local market Sales teams and National Accounts to optimize bottom line impact to Cox Business

* Supports local Sellers and Senior Sales Leadership by translating Cox Business capture and win strategies into proactive proposal strategies and technical approaches

* Project manages stakeholder coordination, across Cox Business, for proactive proposal development including: Legal, Risk & Security, Technology, Product, Sales Engineering, Pricing, and other boundary partners

* Coordinates reviews from regulatory/legal/government affairs and any other boundary partners as needed for appropriate solutions

* Onboards and manages Analyst to develop proactive proposals and RFx responses that balance capture strategies, compliant technical solutions, and operational execute-ability to close complex sales with aggressive customer deadlines

* Creates persuasive proposals and RFx responses in coordination with local market Sales teams and National Accounts, upon request, when advanced technical solutioning and/or product knowledge is required. Writes non-technical sections and coordinates technical sections with appropriate boundary partners for clarity, consistency, and enhancement of win themes. Responsible for professional formatting of proposals, including graphics

* Facilitates executive sign-off of proactive and unsolicited proposals

* Identifies and promotes best practice proposal assets, including language standardization, repeatable/scalable solutioning and packaging to continuously improve the overall quality of Cox Business proposals

* Socializes best practices with Sales leadership, National Accounts, Sales Engineering, Product, Training, and Change Management teams

* Supports the Strategic RFP Response Team with RFxs, as needed

* Defines and continuously improves Complex Proposal Desk operations, including tools and methodology

* Develops metrics that track outcomes and levels of effort

* Conducts post-mortems of Complex Proposal Desk-supported proactive proposals and RFxs


Qualifications: *Required Skills and Qualifications*




* BS/BA degree in related field

* 5+ years of experience in business to business telecom or related field

* Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and pivot in a deadline-driven environment

* Excellent writing, data visualization, communication, and interpersonal skills with keen attention to detail; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of management

* Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information

* Effectively work in cross-functional, collaborative teams

* Technical problem-solving skills

* Expertise with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel



*Preferred Skills and Qualifications*




* APMP certification or equivalent

* 3+ years of experience with the business development lifecycle, solution selling, or writing/coordinating winning proposals in telecom or related field

* 1+ years of technical writing experience

* 1+ years of experience with complex procurement and contract management in a large enterprise/public/government acquisition environment at the federal, state, or local level

* Cable/MSO experience in business to business sales management

* Experience creating persuasive sales and marketing-oriented proposals

* Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite
