The Manager, Client Operations - Inventory is responsible for providing leadership, vision, and direction to enable the Inventory department to operate at optimal efficiency and deliver on its commitment to achieve service standards. This person will also function as a business liaison/sponsor of special requests or initiatives identified as strategic in achieving the business objectives of the organization. Such requests may include but are not limited to initiatives which would be managed by project management, product, sales and worked by business partners and other enterprise entities. The Manager will ensure active participation/representation at planning meetings and will provide structured updates to the organization on progress and timelines impacting operations. The Manager is a trusted advisor of executive management and assists with developing and implementing the long-term vision of the inventory department, improving operational execution, and enhancing the overall experience of Cox Automotive clients and employees. This individual will be expected to exercise sound judgment within broadly defined practices and policies and will regularly interact with all levels of management, staff, other organizations within the company, and customers. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Client Operations.





*Duties and Responsibilities:*




* *Management of Personnel*: Establishes operational policies and procedures for organizational activities. Manages, coaches and develops teams to ensure execution of all business deliverables, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and the overall objectives of the department while also ensuring members experience the challenges and career growth that produce future leaders. Timely hiring of budgeted headcount. Must be able to build and maintain diverse teams and support consistent positive attrition within the team when necessary.

* *Goal Setting*: Motivate and drive the team in establishing stretch goals. Directs the development and implementation of activities of personnel engaged in the departments daily operations to attain organizational goals consistent with high productivity, quality and all delivery requirements.

* *Customer Service:** *Ensures timely, quality service and elevated level of customer satisfaction; Manages and communicates clear expectations related to operations, as well as, projects to senior management. Manage cross departmental relationships with partner teams including sales, product, operations and others under the Cox Automotive umbrella. Serve as the escalation point for your leadership team and sales partners with ownership and consistency.

* *Issue Resolution:** *Proactively work to identify and resolve issues. Maintain a working knowledge of Cox Automotive applications, product suites, clients, and reporting capabilities. Demonstrate strong analytical ability to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions across and up the management chain. Challenge the status quo and look for innovative ways to resolve problems.

* *Relationship Building:** *Foster a strong partnership relationship with other organizations across Cox Automotive, dealers and customers, both internal and external. Work closely within the Dealer Services departments, IT, and other business areas to rationalize business requirements and facilitate successful implementation; Act as primary point of contact for all vendor relationships, escalations and other customer services issues.

* *Process Improvement:* Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, develop the business case, project plan and drive subsequent implementation and execution.

* *Budget Management: * Manage budget within assigned perimeters and look for ways to cut cost when applicable. Be fiscally responsible for the Inventory department and all departmental expenses. Operate efficiently and manage other financial duties as they are assigned.


Qualifications:

* Demonstrated success operating a contact/technical/support center in a complex support organization

* 7+ years of professional experience

* 1+ years of management or team lead experience. Excellent management skills and the ability to promote a team environment are essential.

* Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented, multi-task, team environment in which strong attention to detail is expected.

* Must be able to handle multiple, competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

* Superb communication, follow up, facilitation, customer service skills and interpersonal skills and with strong attention to detail.

* Ability to accommodate flexible work hours/schedule.

* Highly motivated, with the ability to motivate others.

* Team-focused, with a proven track record of coaching and development for the purpose of building bench strength.

* Customer-focused attitude.

* Demonstrated experience in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating complex team efforts and projects.

* Experience with business support software applications such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio, etc.) required.

* Demonstrated ability to develop creative ideas for solving issues and track record for execution.

* Knowledge of the automotive industry is a plus.

* Experience overseeing a team that is required to manage their day through multi-tasking with phone and multiple queue environments is preferred.

* Experience integrating across business units for development needs is preferred.

* Experience working with 3rd party vendors to meet client needs. Ability to establish positive rapport outside of the organization with a focus on client success.

* Knowledge of UNIX, SQL, FTP preferred

* Experience with database support is preferred.

* Some travel may be required- ~5%
