As a Senior Actuarial Consultant, you'll draw on innovative tools, including the largest database of health care information in the world, to interpret the key drivers of health care trends for our internal and external clients. You'll manage an elite Actuarial team and you'll open doors to countless new career opportunities with your performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and develop an elite team of consulting Actuaries
  • Lead and participate in client relationships and oversee client assignments
  • Develop new rates, prepare cost estimates and conduct and evaluate studies on pricing, utilization and health care costs for our broad range of clients
  • Design and run complex data programs to create mathematical analyses and actuarial models
  • You'll be challenged as you put your master actuarial and leadership skills to work within a highly complex and matrixed healthcare environment
  • In addition, you will need to become a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in your area of expertise while also mentoring and developing best-in-class actuaries

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Candidates must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed a minimum of 4 or more Actuarial exams
  • 5+ years of Actuarial experience
  • 2 years experience with Medicare with (Part D preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience managing and providing work direction to a team
  • If"you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen"for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response"(i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth"Group-approved symptom screener. Employees must comply with any state and local"masking orders. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior consulting experience
  • Experience working in the health care industry
  • ASA or FSA designation
