Sodexo has a new opening for an Accounting Manager at our Financial Service Center in Cheektowaga, NY.


You will perform professional accounting work involving utilizing project management and financial systems knowledge (SAP) while leading a team to achieve department objectives.


The successful candidate will:

  • oversee various Accounting and Billing programs/projects that are of a mix of moderately complex and highly complex in nature
  • provide technical SAP/Accounting support surrounding service requests on behalf of multiple functions in Accounting (e.g. Billing, Contract Management, Client Accounting, Client Balance Sheet, Government Accounting)
  • gather business owner specifications and prepare service requests and project requests in collaboration with business owners
  • research and resolve technical processing issues in coordination with SAP technical team including developing test scripts, conducting testing, acquiring resource needs for testing as required, implementing solutions, ensuring defects are satisfactorily cleared and providing post-go live support
  • act as key liaison with the Finance Initiatives and Integration team for large scale projects and company integrations
  • research alternative solutions to streamline and advance current billing practices across the organization

Position Summary

Has in-depth knowledge in Accounting and basic knowledge of related disciplines. Maintains accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets. Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions. Works independently; receives minimal guidance. May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May represent the level at which career may stabilize for many years or even until retirement.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 3 years   

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years
