To provide consultative support on behalf of an individual with an Intellectual Disability and/or Developmental Disability. Support may include, but is not limited to, behavioral assessment, identification of appropriate interventions and staff / caregiver training.

ECF CHOICES Program offers person-centered care planning, care coordination, and support services for individuals receiving Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS).

The LTSS Behavior Analyst will provide support to individuals with complex, challenging behaviors. The support provided may include consultation, assessment, intervention, and education/training services. Support provided will vary according to the level of need of the individual, the capacity of the paid and unpaid caregivers to address and manage challenging behavior, and the availability of outside behavior providers.

Primary Responsibilities:

    ""
  • Provide support and consultation to Support Coordinators in administering behavior screenings and/or interpreting the results of behavior screenings, such as the Inventory for Client and Agency Planning (ICAP). Assist the Support Coordinators to integrate behavior goals and strategies into the Person Centered Support Plan per the results of screenings
  • ""
  • Assist Support Coordinators in compiling information and creating Comprehensive Needs Assessment documentation
  • ""
  • Meet with Support Coordinators (at least) monthly to remain updated on individuals with behavior challenges. As documentation for these meetings, track status of individuals in region on a spread sheet, updated as necessary
  • ""
  • Meet regularly with LTSS Director of Behavior Supports to discuss and review updates on individuals in the region
  • ""
  • Report crisis events and/or any significant information / events with individuals in the region to the LTSS Director of Behavior Supports as soon as possible
  • ""
  • Complete additional behavioral assessment (e.g., functional behavior assessments or functional analyses, etc.), as needed
  • ""
  • Attempt to locate Behavior Analysts for qualifying individuals within the ECF CHOICES program
  • ""
  • Write Interim Behavior Support Plans (BSP), including positive behavior interventions, as needed while waiting for permanent provider to begin services with the individual. Maintain regular communication and face-to-face visits with individual until either behavior decrease, or a permanent provider is in place
  • ""
  • Maintain communication and coordinate with any other entities providing behavioral health or behavior supports (therapists, SOS coordinators, etc.) who are currently working with the individual
  • ""
  • Transition the behavior support of an individual to an outside Behavior Analyst when one becomes available
  • ""
  • Maintain relationships with ABA providers who work with ECF CHOICES individuals in region. Insure that ongoing proper documentation is received and uploaded to the correct channels for maintaining the individuals file. Consult with the BA as needed
  • ""
  • Read through Behavior Support Plans for all individuals for continuity, as well as to look for any restrictions. When restrictions are in place, maintain communication with the provider to ensure ongoing necessity, and that a plan to fade the restriction is in place and being followed
  • ""
  • Report all BSP restrictions to HCBS Committee. Attend HCBS meetings / calls to provide information/rationale for the committee on each restriction placed, as well as the plan to fade. Continue ongoing communication with committee as long as restrictions are in place, reporting the status according to the review schedule
  • ""
  • Work with caregivers and staff to implement positive behavior interventions. Provide behavior protocols / strategies to caregivers / staff. Model strategies, coach caregivers and staff and provide feedback
  • ""
  • Work with the Director of Behavior Supports to provide training to providers / provider staff
  • ""
  • Assist Director of Behavior Supports with Group 7 & 8 processes and document review. Ensure that all steps are being followed in the applicable workflows

Required Qualifications:

    ""
  • Certified as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), or comparable education and experience with certification that allows independent practice in ABA
  • ""
  • 5+ years of experience providing behavior analysis services in home and community-based settings
  • ""
  • 2+ years of experience providing behavior analysis services to adults with an Intellectual Disability and/or a Developmental Disability
  • ""
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships, work with colleagues and external audiences and partner in areas of system change, housing development/operations and/or the delivery of supportive services
  • ""
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems required (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • ""
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders
