Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is seeking aLifeguard for the summer season - Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The hours of this position are Friday through Sunday 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Position Requirements:

Must have knowledge and skills in leading and supervising day to day pool activities.

Oversees and ensures the safety of the patients in the swimming area. Enforces pool rules and regulations. Inspects area for cleanliness and possible maintenance duties. Ability to perform quickly and calmly in emergencies.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to work up to 40 hours week depending on need of assigned area.
  • Must have physical capabilities to withstand considerable standing, sitting, and walking as well as participation in control and restraining out of control patients.
  • Must be able to twist, turn and reach above and below the waist.
  • May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. Unassisted.
  • May lifts, push, or pull persons or equipment over 100lbs.
  • Near visual acuity is required for accurate reading of forms, reports, and the patients medical record.
  • Ability to distinguish basic colors and shades; depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to operate lifesaving equipment.
  • Ability to hear sound with or without correction.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, and bend daily. This may be done as many as 20 times daily, or more often.
  • Communication is necessary to discuss and confer with staff and physicians on patient conditions.
  • Must be able to use both hands in fine and gross manipulation of small tools, including but not limited to pen/pencil, copier, and telephone.
  • Must be able to spend majority of working time outside in high temperatures.
  • Yearly education in non-violent crisis intervention and CPR certification required.
  • An employee health questionnaire and annual PPD/chest x-ray is required.
  • Annual attendance to employee reorientation.

This is a CATEGORY A position. Tasks involve high risk exposure to blood, tissue, or bodily fluids.

Job Requirements

Position Requirements:

Prefer completion of some college courses, preferably in Psychology, Mental Health, Recreation, or Education. Higher education hours are interchangeable with at least one year of mental health experience.Minimum of 2 seasons of priorlife guard experience / certification and CPR / First Aid certification, both by a recognized source of training. Prefer American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
