Applies comprehensive pharmacy practice and clinical research knowledge to perform preparation of both sterile and non-sterile customized extemporaneously prepared or manipulated drug product investigational drugs as well as solid dosage form dispensing within needed timelines to execute clinical studies to allow delivery of study data for clinical trials that support NDA filings

Works independently, but receives coaching/instruction to resolve complex pharmacy facility and dose preparation problems and contributes as a resource for others for pharmacy practice, operations and regulatory queries

Serves as a technical resource to pharmacy technician staff to ensure pharmacy regulatory and quality standards are maintained

Maintains detailed knowledge of pharmacy practice and regulatory requirements


Leads pharmacy projects for the preparation of both sterile and non-sterile customized extemporaneously prepared or manipulated drug product investigational drugs as well as solid dosage form dispensing

Provides after hours business support as needed and on a rotating schedule

Supports an environment where pharmacy and technology innovation is the standard

Reviews preparation setup and completion work performed by preparation team

Collaborates with pharmacy staff to progress and complete dose preparation and dispensing activities

Applies comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practice and regulations to maintain pharmacy compliance with all state and federal laws, and all applicable licensing and regulatory bodies, including but not limited to FDA, DEA, USP, CT Commission of Pharmacy

Applies comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practice to maintain pharmacy student/preceptor programs


Doctor of Pharmacy degree required; Post-doctoral residency or fellowship preferred

Minimum of 3 years pharmacy practice experience; Minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in Clinical Research

Has comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practice principles

Current license to practice pharmacy from the Connecticut Commission of Pharmacy; multi-state licensure preferred

Current BLS certification required

Project Management Professional certification preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently

Ability to build collaborative working relationships with colleagues
