Overall Purpose: This career step requires mastery level experience. Responsible for cyber security areas across products, services, infrastructure, networks, and/or applications while providing protection for AT&T, our customers, and our vendors/partners. Works with senior team members on various projects relating to the protection of devices, customers, assets, data, information technology, and networks. Supports innovation, strategic planning, technical proof of concepts, testing, lab work, and various other technical program management related tasks associated with the cyber security programs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Includes ideation, testing, proof of concept and support for various cyber related projects. Analysis, of complex security issues and the development and engineering activities to help mitigate risk. Analyzes various hardware and/or software solutions recommending purchases and identifying modifications to fit AT&T's cyber security needs and that of our managed services teams. Develops policies and procedures to minimize network intrusion, malware events and vulnerability issues for internal and external customers. Applies measures to block malicious code and applications. Includes forward looking research, planning and strategy to strengthen our stance against future cyber security threats, and enhance our mitigation techniques and technology solutions. Areas of work include, but are not limited to: Cyber Incident Response, cyber product testing, cyber risk & strategic analysis, cyber research, cyber awareness & training, cyber vulnerability detection & assessment, cyber intelligence & investigation, cyber networks & systems engineering, cyber security application testing, cyber digital forensics & forensics analysis, cyber software assurance, cyber business operations & support, cyber application development & testing, cyber operational support, cyber IoT planning & testing, cyber policy & requirements & standards.

The Lead-Cybersecurity position within the Vulnerability Management team is a key strategic lead for all technical SMEs within the App, Database, Device, and Cloud scope. The lead meets with all levels of Management to collaborate on strategy, identify and solve business challenges and set strategic priorities for a team of 25-30 Principal and Senior level individual contributors. The Lead is required to own strategic prioritization, SME level problem solving, and representing AT&Ts Vulnerability Management program to both senior leadership in AT&T and externally to customers and industry leaders.

Primary responsibilities for this position will include vulnerability tool strategy, architecture and selection associated with application, database, and workflow. This position will provide thought leadership to address gaps in threat landscape, define strategy for risk-based approach to vulnerability remediation and drive integration between vulnerability management security platforms and broader enterprise platforms. This role will also work with and define priorities for the technical architects responsible for ServiceNow Workflows to ensure flows are functionally efficient for both security practitioners and the users of the platform.

Required Skills:

- Very Strong background and knowledge related to application vulnerability scanning technologies (SAST, SCA, DAST, IAST, etc..)

- Very Strong knowledge of implementation techniques in both DevOps as well as standalone environments

- Strong DevSecOps knowledge

- Strong knowledge of industry and governmental vulnerability management best practices

- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP and related technologies

- Strong understanding of cloud and virtualization technologies and Software Defined Network technologies

- Strong working knowledge of wireline and mobility network transport and technologies

- Strong experience with security architecture, design, and requirements generation

- Strong understanding of Vulnerability Management practices and working knowledge of associated tools and technologies for applications, databases and operating systems, workloads, and containers.

- Understanding of data modeling and databases.

- Working knowledge of Security Management Practices including Risk Management, Policies and Procedures, Information Classification, Roles and Responsibilities and Information Security Awareness

- Strong understanding of Internet based security threats and mitigation techniques

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills and ability to lead complex projects

- Strong experience with Python language is required

- Familiarity with any of the following program languages to assist in assessment of application security architectures is a plus: Java, C/C++, C Sharp, .NET, IIS Web Server, SQL Server, Oracle VB, Unix Scripts, Perl, XML, HTML5

Desired Skills: BS in EE, CE, CS, or equivalent work experience with 10 years of experience with information security, threat analysis, risk mitigation and data security. CISSP or equivalent certification.

Job Contribution: Acknowledged technical authority and internal thought leader on ATT technologies.

Education: Preferred masters degree in information systems, Engineering, Mathematics or Cyber Security or equivalent experience.

Experience: Typically requires 10+ years experience. Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role.
