This business partner role resides in the Development Business Technology (DBT) that supports Global Biometrics and Data Management (GBDM) in Pfizer Global Product Development (GPD).

GBDM plays a critical role in clinical development and trial execution, delivering high quality clinical data and analysis products to ensure clinical development decision making, regulatory submissions, and commercial success.

GBDM has been striving vigorously, under the GPD transformation initiative, to achieve its vision of industry leadership in harnessing the power of data to drive robust evidence-based decision-making, and shaping the scientific and healthcare environment.

This role will represent DBT lead partnering primarily with BioStatistics business which is in close relationship with Statistical Programming & Analysis (SPA). BioStatistics and SPA are the GBDM major functions responsible for clinical design, driving clinical decisions, clinical study reporting & regulatory submissions, and scientific & commercial support.

This role owns the accountability, under the guidance of DBT leadership, for business engagement, partnership, and technology enablement to maintain current technology landscape to deliver clinical development portfolio; Build new capabilities to optimize clinical trial systems and process; Innovate future ecosystem to achieve business vision of being the best in the industry.


The primary responsibilities critical for this role include the following:

+ Manage a technology portfolio of multiple global critical systems and statistical analysis software to support BioStatistics & SPA day to day operations; Collaborate with application support service providers in identifying and eliminating barriers and gaps to improve systems, processes and services to maintain a strong business continuity for meeting critical target dates for delivering drug programs.

+ Manage vision and purpose. Formulate technology strategy & roadmap in the alignment of BioStatistics & SPA business strategy; Act as technology consultant to bring industry trend and technology talent to the table; Lead and co-lead projects/effort to execute strategy.

+ Influence and communicate effectively in presenting business or technology concept & ideas, using appropriate tools and techniques to different audiences across Business and BT organizations/groups, and answer questions.

+ Lead and organize the process of building business case, identify investment, gaining governance endorsement, chartering projects, selecting solution providers, and delivering solutions with BT senior leads, that impact the supported business domains.

+ Establish and foster relationships with business stakeholders, as well as relationships between business and Chief Digital and Technology Office (CDTO); Advocate and connect business goals and needs with CDTO stakeholders

+ Organizational agility, understand organizational structures, policy, procedures, processes, roles & responsibilities across business and CDTO groups; skillful in navigating through and working with different functional groups to get the work done.

+ Operate independently in being proactive and effective in planning, prioritizing, problem solving, negotiating for agreement, taking risks and making decisions in the ambiguous situation, to achieve the set objectives.

+ Steer, oversee and contribute, with mentorship, to matrix teams including service providers and external partners to deliver business values; Promote ideas and innovations for collective successes; Able to guide team members in completing their assigned work.


+ Bachelor's degree in IT related field

+ 5- 7 years' experience in IT

+ 3 years of Pharma business technology experience supporting clinical development, preferably clinical statistics and statistical programming & analysis.

+ Command of the system development life cycle, computer system validation and GxP requirements

+ Comprehensive knowledge of the concepts, principles, systems and software for clinical statistics and clinical analysis & reporting.

+ Solid experience in business partnership working with business stakeholders and SME's. A relationship builder. Customer focused.

+ Self-driven and self-learning to adapt changes or new environment, using knowledge, experience and judgement to make decisions and achieve desired results.

+ Enterprise Business Analysis knowledge and skills to partner with business stakeholders in identifying business opportunities, determining the optimum project investment path and implementing new business and technical solutions


+ 5+ years of Pharma business technology experience in supporting clinical statistics and statistical programming & analysis. Familiar with clinical statistical analysis software such as SAS, R, EAST, StatXact and LogXact etc

+ Business acumen in BioStatistics role in clinical trials, statistical design & analysis process & operations, and industry technology landscape.

+ A strong technology lead in maintaining, improving and experimenting new & emerging technology for the responsible domain, e.g. AI & automation in clinical data operations & reporting, and digital enablement in the larger CDTO organization and community.

+ Working experience in budgeting / staffing technology development project.
