Using Big Data analytics, we develop new methods for analyzing massive data sets to learn about our network and our customers, and to improve services and operations.


We are looking for you, if


+ You are a strong data scientist with a passion for digging into large data sets and extracting knowledge through data analysis, management, and visualization

+ You would like to work on problems that cut across all aspects of AT&T's business: network and service management, customer and business analytics, network design and optimization, and new service creation

+ You can provide end-to-end predictive and analytical solutions for non-standard problems even when the problem is not well defined

+ Your solutions involve developing and integrating novel statistical methods and algorithms and then presenting them to clients using R/Python in the AT&T open source collaborative environment RCloud ( http://rcloud.social/index.html )

+ You desire to join an amazing team of professionals helping AT&T solve real world problems through statistical/machine learning analytics of massive data sets

+ To invent novel, publishable methodology that advances the multidisciplinary fields of data science and addresses real-world problems

+ To contribute to these fields through open source projects, led by AT&T

+ Work closely with other statisticians and engineers and various AT&T business unit leaders


**Desired Areas of Expertise:**


+ Research background with emphasis on machine learning, computational statistics, graphics, visualization and/or engineering applications of statistics and data analysis techniques for Big Data

+ Ability to work well within and between small teams to accomplish data science tasks from data ingestion and cleansing to analysis and presentation

+ Expertise in one or more of the following areas: time series analysis, multivariate analysis, spatial statistics, functional data analysis, machine learning techniques, text mining, statistical computing in R/Python

+ Experience with very large data sets, and the ability to use software to manipulate large data and build implementations of ideas

+ Strong communication skills

+ Strong combination of data analytic techniques and algorithm skills

+ Ability to prototype and productionize innovative solutions


**Required Qualifications**


+ Candidate shall have a Ph.D. in an approved field from an accredited university, or a Masters degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelors degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

+ Research background with emphasis on computational statistics, graphics, visualization and/or engineering applications of statistics and data analysis for Big Data

+ Degree such as Statistics (preferred), Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university


**Desired Qualifications**


+ Experience with the following software tools: R, Python, Linux, SQL, and Linux Shell Scripts

+ Experience with machine learning libraries and deep learning frameworks: scikit-learn, tensorflow, keras

+ Experience with very large data sets, and the ability to use software to manipulate data and implement ideas

+ Experience with modern data management systems: Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake and/or Databricks

+ Experience with telecommunications and/or IP networking
