The Threat Response Team is looking for an experienced JS Information Visualization Developer to help define and build the front end of our incident response orchestration application. Youll have visibility and opportunity at every step of the UI development process and should be comfortable with a wide range of responsibilities from gathering requirements to implementing and testing front-end interactive information visualization components using React, D3 and other modern web application technologies.

What Youll Do

As a member of the Threat Response team, you will:

  • Implement interactive information visualization components using React, HTML, CSS, LESS, D3.js, SVG, and other front-end languages and libraries
  • Specialize in making data digestible and turning raw information into actionable insights.
  • Work with APIs and back-end teams to ensure that UI dependencies are communicated, understood, tested, and delivered
  • Work with UX Designers and product stakeholders to translate requirements into UI for new and existing feature sets
  • Develop re-usable components to be shared across products within Ciscos Security Business Group.
  • Define best practices for a unified style and set of interaction patterns that encompass the entirety of the Threat Response UI

Who Youll Work With

You will work closely with Data Engineers, UX Designers, Product Management, QA, and other key stakeholders to improve the user experience of the product, by empowering users to more easily draw actionable insights from large quantities of abstract data in an efficient and effective manner. The Threat Response team is looking for a candidate who is:

  • Self-motivated by the challenges put in front of them
  • Able to take charge of development initiatives from requirements to implementation while considering the objectives of users and leveraging the skillsets of product owners, designers, developers, and QA
  • Passionate about investigating new trends, techniques, and technologies and using them to keep Threat Response on the leading edge
  • Interested in building strong relationships by working collaboratively with other talented members of the team
  • Comfortable working within 2-week sprints

Who You Are

Were looking for a team member that has:

Required Skills

  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Expert level understanding and proficiency with React.js
  • Expertise in advanced UI, information visualization, and interaction design in the browser (SVG, D3, Grammar of Graphics, Tufte, Bertin, Ware)
  • Experience with Redux
  • 7+ years of experience in developing web-based user interfaces for enterprise-grade applications
  • Proven experience with developing cross-browser, responsive web applications
  • Demonstrated UX sensibilities and a solid understanding of the UI design process for creating intuitive workflows within complex systems
  • Experience with contemporary development tools such as Git, continuous integration, Webpack/Gulp, Mocha/Jasmine/Jest, etc.
  • Strong communication skillsthe ability to present your ideas succinctly and the willingness to engage in constructive debate

Desired Skills

  • Ability to apply information theory in scientific data analysis and visualization
  • Experience in SPA performance engineering
  • Experience with information security principles and terminology
