The Intake Case Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the flow of client referrals within the Optum EHR referral queue EHRen, the supervision of case entry team staff, the scheduling, education, discipline and mentoring of direct reports, and will ensure the adherence to the quality, productivity and HIPPA policy and process guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities:

    ""
  • Monitor volume to ensure proper referral distribution to staff and adherence to turn around time SLAs.
  • ""
  • Maintains employee schedules and user access to ensure client referral volume coverage.
  • ""
  • Monitor and maintain the Concurrent Intake quality standards, as well as goals for productivity.
  • ""
  • Identify possible referral or connectivity issues for client EMRs and report to I.T. via service ticket.
  • ""
  • Communicate in a timely manner, sustained and unresolved referral or connectivity issues to client EMRs.
  • ""
  • Identify client referral trends and issues.
  • ""
  • Investigate and resolve client case inquiries.
  • ""
  • Coordinate the education and training of new and existing staff.
  • ""
  • Communicate to staff any policy and/or process changes.
  • ""
  • Monitor staff timesheets, overtime hours worked, and time off requests to ensure they are within department guidelines.
  • ""
  • Complete interim and yearly performance evaluations and yearly MAP goals.
  • ""
  • Mentor staff to higher performance levels and to other job positions.
  • ""
  • Ability to work with peer group as a team such as create assignments, perform shift to shift handoffs, provide pre and post weekend assessments, and peer mentoring.
  • ""
  • Work with department support staff to prevent or improve any potential issues.
  • ""
  • Demonstrate the UHG five core values and provide a strong leadership shadow.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) as assigned, with every other weekend requirement including Holidays. It may be necessary, given the business need to work overtime. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 3:00pm 1:00am AST.

Required Qualifications:

    ""
  • Associates Degree or higher degree completed
  • ""
  • 1+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • ""
  • 2+ years experience working with patient documentation
  • ""
  • Experience with reporting and data retrieval
  • ""
  • Understanding of confidentiality/PHI policies and HIPAA compliance
  • ""
  • Proficiency with Windows PC applications: Microsoft Word (create and edit documents), Microsoft Excel (create, sort, and edit data in spreadsheets), Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management), which includes the ability to navigate a computer while on the phone
  • ""
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • ""
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location.
  • ""
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.
