Information Security Engineers for Western Union Denver, CO responsible for develop and oversee the implementation of information security procedures and policies. Build, maintain and upgrade security technology, such as firewalls, for the safe use of computer networks and the transmission and retrieval of information. Design and implement appropriate security controls to identify vulnerabilities and protect digital files and electronic infrastructures. Monitor and respond to computer security breaches, viruses, and intrusions, and perform forensic investigation. May oversee the assessment of information security
systems. Act as an essential part of Cyber Defense Infrastructure Engineering team, focusing on network protection. Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure security tools. Respond to escalated security alerts and provide security consultation and expertise for the technology teams and business. Act as the escalation point for network protection security systems. Perform advanced security system maintenance and troubleshooting tasks. Review escalated security system alerts and logs, correlate those into attack patterns and create action plans. Perform protection security system architecture review, review and tune security system rule sets, aid in research of next generation security issues, 0-day attacks, and provide input on strategy for future security infrastructure and tools.

Requires a Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field. 1 year of progressive post-bachelors experience is required. Must have some experience in each of the following skills: Infrastructure protection security systems: SIEM, WAF, DAM, IPS/IDS, proxy, DDoS and protection; Active Directory and LDAP, firewall technology, and IDS/IPS technology; TCP/IP, reading network packets, network technologies, and perimeter protection technology; Web technologies (scripting, SSL, HTTP/S) and their security requirements; Scripting languages including SQL query; WAN/LAN/Cloud networking concepts and Cloud infrastructure; and Logging methodologies: syslog, agent based, WMI.

Referral Bonus - $1,000 (Subject to Employee Referral Policy). Eligible to internal employees only.

Annual base salary gross: $99,700 $175,700 USD. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Western Union salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidates qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of Western Unions total compensation package for employees.
