Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) is an industry-leading provider for prime satellite and payload capabilities and directed energy and electronics solutions for national security, military, and civil customers. SSSD has an opening for a Principal Industrial Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

The Industrial Engineer supports the Industrial Engineering and Scheduling organization in process and systems & integration projects. Have an understanding of Industrial Engineering and Production Scheduling, as well as in using ERP systems such as SAP. Individual will help interpret capacity analysis and incorporate into what-if scenario simulations before applying to project schedule for review.

Responsibilities include the following:

+ Develops and implements plans that ensure the timely availability and effective utilization of labor, facilities, equipment, & tooling resources enabling the achievement of program delivery and cost milestones
+ Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
+ On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods
+ May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities
+ Develops and summarizes analyses for the acquisition, maintenance & enhancement of capital assets and miscellaneous equipment
+ Provides capacity planning, shop-loading and staffing analysis for functional production teams
+ Analyzes existing operational processes and develops metrics and reporting to optimize and improve program & operational performance
+ May be required to split support over more than one product line and manufacturing area, and support multiple program or production managers

Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor of Science Degree (STEM) with a minimum of 2 years of Industrial engineering experience;or Masters of Science Degree (STEM) with a minimum of 0 years of Industrial Engineering experience
+ Experience in using shop floor production systems (Solumina, MES, etc.)
+ Experience in using Employee Resource Systems (ERP)
+ Proficient in MS Project, Excel & PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with AutoCAD or Visio software
+ Experience performing Earned Value Management
+ Experience with data visualization and dashboard creation/ maintenance (Tableau, Power BI)
+ Report programming experience (SQL, Crystal, MS Query, Bus. Objects, etc.)
+ Space Technology Experience
+ Current SCI Clearance and the ability to maintain clearance
+ Documented experience working in a robust IPT environment
+ Capacity and scheduling simulation experience (Simio, or other simulation software)

Salary Range: $74,200.00 - $111,400.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
