Primary Responsibilities:
"As an Indirect Experienced Senior Tax Specialist, you will be involved in all aspects of the state indirect tax practice, including sales and use tax, premium tax, personal property tax, and special state projects. In addition, you will participate in many different aspects of the state income tax process. Depending on your career goals, you will also have opportunities to become involved with federal and international tax projects as well as M&A transactions. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide variety of tax matters including:

• Participate in planning activities related to emerging indirect tax issues
""
• Perform research and provide analysis of proposed and existing tax laws, regulations, and rulings
""
• Resolve indirect tax audits and notices
""
• The timely and accurate preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns and quarterly estimates
""
• Assist Tax leadership with M & A transactions and other related projects
""
• Prepare and review sales and use tax returns
""
• Prepare and review premium tax returns and estimates
""
• Review premium tax accounting and accruals
"

Required Qualifications:

""
• Bachelors or Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance
""
• 3+ years of tax or accounting experience in a public accounting firm or equivalent experience in a large corporate tax department
""
• Knowledge and understanding of state/local sales and use tax laws and regulations
""
• Experience prioritizing assignments and managing workload within statutory and internal deadlines
""
• Solid research and analytical skills
""
• Solid computer literacy including intermediate proficiency with MS Excel
""
• You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location
""

• Exhibit an understanding of state taxes as well as online tax research tools

• CPA or graduate degree

• Vertex or equivalent income tax compliance software experience

• SSAP 101 (Insurance tax accounting) experience
""
• Ability to use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise
""
• Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
