Prudential is seeking a talented IAM Engineer to join the Global Business & Technology Solutions, Identity and Access Management team. We are a diverse group working on multiple areas in the world of identity and access management for both the workforce and customers. The projects range from international, enterprise-wide directory services and IAM, to application-specific services.  The IAM Engineer will be part of a team that is responsible for the architecture, design, engineering and evolution of federation and authentication services at Prudential.


  • Manage the full product lifecycle around federation and authentication services including requirements gathering, analysis, design, building, testing, deployment, and operationalization 
  • Incorporate DevOps and Agile methodologies for CI/CD of the solutions
  • Create technical architecture models with latest technical trends
  • Collaborate with architects, other teams, product owners, and technical staff to drive implementation of new applications and services
  • Maintain records to document all aspects of the product lifecycle with a particular emphasis on architecture design, and standard operating procedures 
  • Take ideas and concepts, and visualize them in ways such that they are communicated effectively and compellingly for internal leaders, partners and customers

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT
  • At least 3 years of experience in IAM (Federation and Web Access Management preferred)
  • Software development experience using Java, JavaScript, NodeJS, Python, Perl, or similar language preferred
  • Understanding of DevOps and Agile methodologies preferred

IAM Specific Skills:
  • Strong understanding of identity protocols such as SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect 
  • Experience with products such as PingFederate, PingAccess (Ping Identity), CA SiteMinder, IBM ISAM
  • Understanding of the broader Identity and Access Management space including User Lifecycle Management, Authentication, Multifactor Authentication, Authorization (fine vs coarse-grained), Federation etc.

General Technology Skills:
  • Solid understanding of web-services (SOAP & REST), application security and integration using CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of the broader security environment including data security, cryptology, PKI, and network security
  • Understanding of the offerings of the cloud service providers, such as AWS, Azure, and Google
  • Good background in UNIX-based systems
  • Software development experience in a scripting or programming language
  • Monitoring and data analysis skills, e.g. Splunk
  • Experience with API gateway products like Apigee a strong plus
  • An understanding of DevOps and working in an Agile environment
