This position is responsible for researching and investigating key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization, healthcare cost, and population health analytics.

Supports clinical teams and HCE colleagues with patient identification and stratification tools.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides or develops visualizations for clinical teams and HCE colleagues, including the use of Tableau to succinctly demonstrate complex concepts
  • Supports profile development for patients who have unmet needs. Identifies potential areas for medical expense reduction and improved patient outcomes
  • Performs statistical findings and presents conclusions. Provides data in support of clinical, financial, utilization, actuarial, and total cost of care analyses
  • Collects and understands historical health care data
  • Extracts, aggregates and quality assurance on applicable data from multiple sources and tables for purposes of root cause analysis
  • Support development and performance testing of patient identification and stratification tools.
  • Support pilots designed to test clinical interventions and identification/stratification tools. Supports statistical analyses to determine effectiveness of clinical programs (e.g. pre-post analysis, clinical trial results)
  • Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions
  • Communicate results to relevant audiences and incorporates results into population analysis
  • Provides ongoing communications on project status, results, and conclusions from analyses
  • Provides or develops visualizations for clinical teams and HCE colleagues, including the use of Tableau to succinctly demonstrate complex concepts
  • Positions in this function research and investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and healthcare costs data. Provides management with statistical findings and conclusions. Identifies potential areas for medical cost reduction and patient outcome improvement. Appropriately utilizes patient identification and stratification tools to enhance analysis. Provides data in support of clinical, financial and utilization analyses
  • Participate in peer review process. Provide improvement recommendations and share expertise with colleagues
  • Support and recommend improvements to standard work processes and develop or support new initiatives assigned to team
  • Sought out as resource for clinical teams and HCE colleagues

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance or Health Administration or related field
  • Experience working in an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment or multiple source data warehouse
  • 3+ years of experience in health care analytics
  • 3+ years of experience using SQL query techniques to access databases
  • Proficient with Tableau is a must, MS Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present ideas and concepts effectively
