Senior Director of Sales Intent Based Networking

What You'll Do
This is a Senior Director level position responsible for leading a global sales team to execute against global sales goals across key technologies in our Intent Based Networking (IBN) portfolio. This key sales leadership role is expected to motivate, inspire, and continually develop a highly talented global team of sales professionals including Sales Specialists and Business Development Managers.  You will also have a matrix team of Geo Specialists and Technical Sales Architects, Strategy and Planning, Marketing, and Finance team members to help drive success across this portfolio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for achieving global sales goals across the $10B IBN Access portfolio including Catalyst Switching and Wireless, with a primary focus of driving recurring software revenue growth in addition to hardware/platforms.
  • Achieving key transformations and hitting OKR targets to include Wi-Fi 6 and Software-defined Access (SDA) via growth in DNA Spaces and ISE.  .
  • Achievement of sales goals (i.e., hitting Plan) across the three primary global/centralized sales specialist teams including:  DNA Spaces, GSP (Sell-to) and At-Risk DNA Renewals.
  • Identify, develop, and implement global go-to-market strategy (including field incentives, partner programs, and marketing awareness) in alignment with Geo Sales and Business Unit priorities.

         Influence product offerings (including product features, buying program offers, and bundles).

  • Team Development - Attracting, developing, and retaining high performance Account Team talent (career development, mentoring, performance management and hiring).
  • The Senior Director of sales is expected to strategically drive Cisco's end-to-end IBN vision for our Global customers, as well as maintain an in-depth understanding of competitive conditions, industry practices, market opportunities, and customer requirements.

You have a reputation and proven track record of success as an exemplary sales leader. Bright, dynamic, and possessing superior verbal and written communication skills. An engaging personality to inspire and create excitement with their sales team, as well as across the entire organization and in the marketplace. Strategic and innovative with an external awareness to understand the nuances of selling complex data network solutions as well as other new technology solutions/products as Cisco expands its market. Utilizing a consultative and diplomatic style, experienced in teaching and developing their teams to identify and define client needs and develop innovative solutions. A tireless, high-energy professional with an entrepreneurial, risk-taking flair and will possess a brand of confidence, which allows for delegation and empowers team. Significant revenue responsibility in current role.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead in a matrix-managed team culture preferably with global scope.
  • You have ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically and effectively communicate vision (both written and verbal) and influence cross-functionally.
  • You have a demonstrated track record leading significant revenue responsibility overachieving targets to meet stretch goals.
  • You have a strong executive presence, you are polished, politically savvy and you have strong leadership skills in mentoring and developing a sales organization.

The ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge & Experience

  • 10+ years experience managing and/or directing sales organizations and sales strategy
  • 15+ years experience working in the technology industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems and drive high performing sales strategies.
  • Experience in strategic sales planning, execution, and policy development.
  • Exposure to business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business operations.
