Your mission

The STLDP (SE Transformational Leadership Development Program) is Ciscos flagship program for developing the leadership skills of our top talent among Ciscos Systems Engineers. Every year, a group of high-potential SEs embark on a career-changing experience that radically transforms their professional perspectives and prospects, equipping them with the skills and know-how to deliver business impact with speed and scale.


After 18 years running, we are now looking at evolving STLDP to the next level of impact, and your job, as the Global Program Manager for STLDP working within the Global Systems Engineering (GSE) organization, will be to:

  • Develop, promote and own a high-value immersive learning experience for Cisco Systems Engineers focused on customer innovation and internal entrepreneurship in alignment with Global Systems Engineering strategic objectives, skills of the future, and Ciscos key values (see below).
  • Develop and maintain a program designed to grow the leadership skills of Ciscos top technical talent within Sales. Share innovative approaches to solve priority customer problems by creating teams focused on solving a specific customer-facing challenge. Curate a curriculum providing the right mix of soft and technical skills for Cisco SEs.
  • Manage external partners involved in the delivery of the training curriculum.
  • Build, maintain, and expand relationships with senior Systems Engineering leaders and program stakeholders, to build the critical support required to successfully execute the program.
  • Manage program budget, so to deliver a premium experience for participants at the best cost for the sponsoring organizations.
  • Mentor, coach, and track the progress of each team as it relates to the case study they are driving. (The STLDP participants are split into 10 teams, each focused on envisioning and realizing their own case study.) Provide risk mitigation and escalation where needed.  
  • Measure and monitor the success and performance of the STLDP program overall through a dashboard tracking the key performance indicators (KPI). Create and distribute status updates around scope, timeline, and budget. Establish various update cadences and distributions to cover participants, managers, sponsors, senior leadership, etc.
  • Document and maintain a repository with all relevant information about the program for various stakeholders (participants, managers, sponsors, etc.).
  • Establish a communication platform for the STLDP participants ensuring everyone is clear on the process and expectations. Schedule and run the milestone meetings throughout the STLDP program.
  • Develop the STLDP brand within Cisco and actively promote the most impactful case studies.
  • Work with GSEs communications team to promote the STLDP program and business impact through internal and external videos, blogs, town hall meeting messaging, etc.
  • Drive the STLDP alumni community, ensuring SEs can leverage their learnings even after they have finished the program.
  • Proactively identify new ideas and opportunities to improve the STLDP processes and curriculum beyond todays approaches. Implement changes when and as needed.
  • Continuously improve the STLDP program, including an annual skill and competency assessment executed through a mix of surveys and interviews across key stakeholders (of various roles and levels) to ensure the training curriculum and topics are aligned to business objectives.

STLDP is one of GSEs flagship programs, and as its Global Program Manager, you will be the face of STLDP, owning it from A to Z. This will provide you a broad exposure to many executives within Cisco, offering you a unique opportunity to expand your leadership abilities and increase professional presence.


Your skills and experience

These are some of the desired skills and experience that will make you successful:

  • Understanding of the skills of the future required by technical sales professionals, and a passion to develop Ciscos Systems Engineers worldwide.
  • Prior experience as a Systems Engineer is desirable.
  • Ability to translate sales and technical skills into learning objective and curriculum. Influence, scope & outline learning maps and role-based curriculums.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, communication skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to foster a collaborative environment with cross-functional, diverse teams.
  • Experience in driving collaborative workshops, for example using Design Thinking techniques.
  • Experience and/or strong interest with career and project-related coaching and mentorship.
  • Program management experience.
  • Comfort and confidence interacting with senior executives, presenting program status and metrics in a clear, concise and compelling way. Interpersonal and leadership skills to build relationships with our subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Passionate about the growth and development of others.
