Digital Transformation, defined as business-led change enabled by technology, is more relevant than ever. Within Cisco, it is Systems Engineers who translate technology into business outcomes for our customers. We think global and act local. We have a unique opportunity to make a difference. To succeed, we must continuously develop our leadership skills.

Your mission

The STLDP (SE Transformational Leadership Development Program) is Ciscos flagship program for developing the leadership skills of our top talent among Ciscos Systems Engineers. Every year, a group of high-potential SEs embark on a career-changing experience that radically transforms their professional perspectives and prospects, equipping them with the skills and know-how to deliver business impact with speed and scale.

After 18 years running, we are now looking at evolving STLDP to the next level of impact, and your job, as the Global Program Manager for STLDP working within the Global Systems Engineering (GSE) organization, will be to:

Curate a curriculum providing the right mix of soft and technical skills for Cisco SEs.
  • Manage external partners involved in the delivery of the training curriculum.

  • Manage program budget, so to deliver a premium experience for participants at the best cost for the sponsoring organizations.
  • Mentor, coach, and track the progress of each team as it relates to the case study they are driving. (The STLDP participants are split into 10 teams, each focused on envisioning and realizing their own case study.) Provide risk mitigation and escalation where needed.
  • Measure and monitor the success and performance of the STLDP program overall through a dashboard tracking the key performance indicators (KPI). Create and distribute status updates around scope, timeline, and budget. Establish various update cadences and distributions to cover participants, managers, sponsors, senior leadership, etc.
  • Document and maintain a repository with all relevant information about the program for various stakeholders (participants, managers, sponsors, etc.).
  • Establish a communication platform for the STLDP participants ensuring everyone is clear on the process and expectations. Schedule and run the milestone meetings throughout the STLDP program.
  • Develop the STLDP brand within Cisco and actively promote the most impactful case studies.
  • Work with GSEs communications team to promote the STLDP program and business impact through internal and external videos, blogs, town hall meeting messaging, etc.
  • Drive the STLDP alumni community, ensuring SEs can leverage their learnings even after they have finished the program.
  • Proactively identify new ideas and opportunities to improve the STLDP processes and curriculum beyond todays approaches. Implement changes when and as needed.
  • Continuously improve the STLDP program, including an annual skill and competency assessment executed through a mix of surveys and interviews across key stakeholders (of various roles and levels) to ensure the training curriculum and topics are aligned to business objectives.

STLDP is one of GSEs flagship programs, and as its Global Program Manager, you will be the face of STLDP, owning it from A to Z. About you

You live the Cisco culture, embodying our principles of give and take: give your best, give your ego the day off, give something of yourself, take accountability, take a bold step, and take difference to heart.

Youre a leader who listens and cares deeply. You thrive in a world that is complex yet begs for simplicity. You adapt quickly and always question the status quo, challenging old ideas and dogmas in a collaborative and creative manner. You speak both the language of technical professionals, as well as the language of executives.

You have that X factor. You are passionate. Day by day, you do your part in making the world a better place. Youre on a mission and nothing will stop you.

Our Team

Ask us about the best part of working at Cisco, and 9 times out of 10 well say, the people!

And, in fact, we have lots of people; over 70,000 in nearly 100 countries. Out of that, over 6,000 are within technical sales roles, which will collectively refer to as Systems Engineers. SEs are the heart of Cisco, the trusted advisors of our customers, helping drive Digital Transformation through our unique skills, technology expertise, and entrepreneurship acumen.

The Global Systems Engineering (GSE) organization is the central, global team representing the 6000 SEs towards the rest of Cisco, and responsible for driving the global initiatives and programs (such as STLDP). We care for and nurture communities of technical experts, SE role evolution, tools and enablement, and much more. We are obsessed with how we can reduce complexity, increase effectiveness, and accelerate the impact for the community we serve.

Why Cisco?

#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference. Heres how we do it.

We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think were old (35 years strong) and only about hardware, but were also a software company. And a security company. An AI/Machine Learning company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do you cant put us in a box!

But Digital Transformation is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)

Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, give our egos a break, and give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, bold steps, and take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a dedication to equality for all, there is no moving forward.

So, you have colorful hair? Dont care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? Thats cool. Pop culture geek? Many of us are. Passion for technology and world changing? Be you, with us!
