Aramark Canada is seeking a highly engaged and experienced leader to join our operations in Calgary. The General manager for Hospitality Services will report to the District Manager and provide operational oversight and resident centered direction to the on-site Aramark teams focused on dining and environmental services


Aramarks Healthcare line of business continues to grow constantly evolving and re-imagining our agenda on delivering the best in-class hospitality services to our Healthcare clients.


The General manager will be responsible to meet the growing needs of delivering a best in class hospitality service to everyone our teams serve on a daily basis.


The role will be responsible for: delivering resident and family focused services, building strong and enduring partnerships with our client/s and the community, and creating a culture of customer service and accountability.


Key Responsibilities:


To deliver a best in class hospitality service across all services every day by developing the strongest teams and best relationships. The first priority will be to ensure the highest quality of experience for residents whenever they dine and stay in our facilities.

  • Providing a clear vision and direction to onsite management team and staff in an effort to ensure the attainment of organizational and client objectives and goals with a focus on Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Creating/implementing strategic business plans for the accounts to achieve and drive effective implementation processes through collaboration between all departments, and stakeholders.
  • Establishes and maintains open channels of communication between senior clients, management team and support departments to ensure \"best in class\" customer service and satisfaction.
  • Serves as an active participant and/or leader on relevant committees and/or task forces as required
  • Participates in the recruitment, development, and retention of diverse talent within the account.
  • Serves as an integral part of the organization creating strong partnerships amongst all key stakeholders
  • Ensures the accounts meets client service, financial, and quality objectives and enforces policies that guide and support the provision of Hospitality/Environmental services and assures compliance with all Provincial and National regulations.
  • Monitors financial/non-financial results in all departments to achieve company and client objectives.
  • Develops and maintains favorable working conditions with Municipal and Provincial Government bodies.
  • Actively manages the account by analyzing customer satisfaction results, identifying areas of opportunity, and mitigating external threats.
  • Provide leadership in ensuring the account has implemented corporate and client OH&S programs and management of claim costs.



  • University or College Degree or Diploma in hospitality or business administration
  • 5 years + experience leading a large team in a hospitality environment, ideally across multiple locations
  • Ideally 2+ years relevant leadership and general management experience in a healthcare environment
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment would be strong asset
  • Proven ability in analyzing financial statements, operating reports, budget variance reports and other financial statements
  • Strong familiarity with mix of union and non-union workforce
  • Ability to recruit, develop, and retain a strong and diverse team within a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing demands
  • Ability to build and establish internal and external relationship at all levels of the organization including senior levels of management
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory issues such as WHMIS, OH&S, and infection control
  • Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and word.
