Sodexo Corporate Services is seeking experienced General Manager / Chef Manager to lead our team at Farmers Cafe in Phoenix, Arizona. This position will also support the district with culinary support as needed.

The General Manager / Chef Managers, main responsibilities are the daily operation of a full-service caf© serving breakfast, lunch and catering. The candidate must have food and labor cost control experience, exceptional customer service, hands-on cooking experience and leadership skills. Reporting to the District Manager, the General Manager / Chef Manager will have oversight of the Sodexo employees. Position is responsible for directing all contract management service operations and client relations of the caf©.

 

The ideal candidate has:

  • a culinary background with cafeteria / restaurant style dining experience;
  • excellent hospitality, leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies
  • the demonstrated ability to manage food cost and sanitation; and/ or
  • excellent leadership and communication skills.

The successful candidate will:

  • manage the daily food production including production planning and controls;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;
  • have a passion for food; and/or
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members.

Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account

Key Duties- Provides team leadership & training- Controls unit financials- Directs daily food operations for quality & safety standards- Supervises day to day activities - Delegates authority- Assigns & prioritizes activities- Monitors operating standards- Establishes a safe work environment10: Support workplace inclusion activities

C/S: Culinary focus with ADMIN responsibilities.  Limited menu, basic program 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 2 years
