Sodexo Corporate Services is seeking a General Manager / Chef Manager with BAE in Ft. Wayne, IN supporting our client in their corporate cafe. This position supports the clients unit serving around 150 associates per day, overseeing about 4 hourly employees. Typical shift is usually about 5:30am - 4pm Mon-Fri.  Please note: this position involves hands-on prep work, driving a vehicle, and cash handling. This position is a high functioning role which requires working in the kitchen on a daily basis as a key expectation. This operation offers Breakfast, Lunch, Catering and a Micro Market offering to our customers. Catering is a key deliverable and expectations are at a high premium with the customers which our client serves. The ideal candidate will need to be focused on food and physical safety while managing a high quality food program. Being detailed oriented, well organized and possessing strong planning skills are critical to the success of the position.

 

The successful candidate will:

 

  • be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations;
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or
  • have an entrepreneurial and creative vision; 
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.

Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account

Key Duties- Provides team leadership & training- Controls unit financials- Directs daily food operations for quality & safety standards- Supervises day to day activities - Delegates authority- Assigns & prioritizes activities- Monitors operating standards- Establishes a safe work environment10: Support workplace inclusion activities

C/S: Culinary focus with ADMIN responsibilities.  Limited menu, basic program 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 2 years
