Sodexo Education - Schools Business Segment is seeking an experienced and hands on General Manager 3 to support a $1.6MM K-12 School District in Asbury Park, NJ that serves 2,200 students in 4 School sites.

 

The best qualified candidate will have previous experience managing a National School Lunch Account with full knowledge of USDA regulations.  This is a high volume Catering Account and you will assist with events throughout the District. You will implement Sodexo Marketing Programs at all schools and will lead a team of 30+ Employees. We are seeking candidates who have operated multi-feeding sites and have strong financial & analytical skills and quality food presentation skills. 

 

USDA Regulations REQUIRES a minimum education of an Associates degree or equivalent AND 2 years of relevant School Nutrition Programs experience to be considered for this position.

 

Qualified candidates must also be community minded with strong communication skills and have the ability to build and maintain exceptional Client and Customer Relations. Showing students that healthy eating can be fun and delicious is an important part of our nutrition program. The ideal candidate will be well versed in K-12 food service operations, food and labor cost controls, while also having proven success in driving customer results. The ability to articulate ideas, thoughts, opinions, professionally and clearly within all levels of the organization is critical. Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to:

  • Integrate fully within our client's organization becoming a trusted adviser and member of the account's leadership team
  • Achieve continuous improvement in customer and client satisfaction scores
  • Create an exceptional student experience through marketing, menu design, and excellent food quality
  • Meeting (or exceeding) Sodexo standards of operations (Gold Check)

The ideal candidate will have the following: 

  • Prior Schools General Manager-level experience
  • Experience with driving revenues
  • Experience training and leading a food service team
  • Excellent client relation skills and financial acumen
  • Experience working with a diverse population

 

This is a tremendous opportunity for a K12 leader with credentials both academic and years of service required to lead a great account. Our General Manager will have operational and financial over-site for the food and nutrition department. Customer service, excellent client relations and team building skills are a must.   Account receivable and payable experience is required, along with the skill set to effectively implement all USDA training requirements.  Strongly prefer a candidate with strong K12 and Sodexo experience.

Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED

Basic Management Experience - 3 years

Basic Functional Experience - 4 years of relevant experience in school nutrition programs
