Sodexo provides Quality of Life Services that support the needs of our clients in the Energy & Resources market segments, reinforcing client operations in both onshore and offshore environments.

 

Sodexo Energy and Resources is seeking a strong General Manager 2 - Multi-Service to provide oversight for the logistics surrounding the janitorial, grounds, snow removal, water, pest control and porta-potty management for an onshore oil and gas facility, which is located in Roxana, IL.  Reporting directly to a District Manager, this manager will have oversight of over 20 employees (including managers) and will typically work a schedule of 7am-4pm Monday-Friday (with flexibility for business needs).

 

For this exciting new sale, the initial focus will be to manage the grounds and custodial crew for the site, we will also be aiming to manage the food service cafe on-site in the future. As the role expands, this manager will also likely oversee the staff in a kitchen where a cycle menu is produced, feeding about 200 people a day.

   

Primary Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • The ability to work within existing financial costing models, operate within those financial parameters and produce weekly and monthly financial reports, P&L management 
  • Oversight of monthly inventory and ordering (including par level oversight)
  • Planning, scheduling, staffing, training and motivating as needed to ensure stellar guest service is provided
  • Daily responsibility of all food service to include adherence to all food safety/HACCP guidelines, labeling/dating, temperature logs and staff training

**Ensuring a safe work environment on this oil facility is of paramount importance and will be a #1 priority for this Manager.  An understanding of the basics of the oil and gas industry and the oil environment is a must.**

 

Successful candidates will demonstrate experience, success and proficiency in the following areas:  

  • Professional and polished written and verbal communication
  • Hands-on cooking/culinary experience 
  • Managing budgets, especially along with food cost, labor cost
  • Union experience 
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving
  • Multi-tasking, project management and prioritizing
  • Taking initiative and working independently in order to achieve agreed upon business outcomes and to ensure set plans are followed
  • Cultural awareness
  • Maintaining client relationship
  • Computer literacy including usage of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and our other food service programs

Certifications Needed: 

  • ServSafe is a must as ensuring food (and physical safety) are crucial in this environment
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)  obtained through the TSA

Position Summary

Functions as the leader for multiple core services, in a single account and/or multiple locations within the same contract.  Single point of contact and/or client liaison in support of business that in total is between $5 and $10 million in managed volume.Key Duties- Monitors operations by planned and unplanned visits to each operating account of the system to plan projects, implement new processes, client interactions, and new technology to ensure sufficient resources.

- Develops business plan and budget w/each account GM that supports the System and District goals Reviews and analyzes financial statements and data and other financial information to ensure attainment of financial goals for both the client and Sodexo.

- Central Point of Contact for Client Liaison promoting a solid business partnership - assists in contract negotiations for the system.

-  Maintains Quality & Company Standards reviews and maintains reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Sodexo / System Client(s) policies and procedures.

- Responsible for system succession planning/employee development/diversity initiatives/training/constructive counseling. Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives.

- Provides strategic leadership to the respective units within the system to maintain client satisfaction and retention
