Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Manager 2 at  Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ

***Relocation is Available***

 

 

The Food Service Manager 2 will be responsible for a large resident dining hall on campus with approximately $3M in annual volume.

 

Ramapo is a mid-sized state college with high-volume resident dining operations serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night dining until 1AM.  Resident Dining features self service (5 stations) and a community grill concept.  Reporting to the Food Service Operations Director, this manager will provide the overall direction of this unit; training, labor management, service standards, food and occupational safety, oversight of culinary program direction and staff management.

 

The Food Service Manager will typically work a Tuesday - Saturday day shift, but will need to occasionally cover the late night operation for coverage when needed.

 

The best qualified candidate will have the following:

  • High-volume, College/University food service management experience
  • Experience training and leading service personnel (union experience is a plus)
  • Experience with food and labor management systems
  • Experience managing food services in a contract dining environment
  • Basic culinary/kitchen knowledge
  • Experience with food and physical safety programs
  • Exceptional customer service to meet and exceed customer expectations

Position Summary

Provides supervision for multi-functional food service areas at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company.  Contributes to account revenue and operating profit through the implementation of Sodexo programs while executing against Standard Operating Procedures.Key Duties- Maintains and develops client relationships and customer satisfaction for multi-functional food service areas to ensure account retention and positive public relations - Establishes and maintains a safe work environment- Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards- Utilizes Sodexo resources and programs to ensure operating standards and regulatory requirements are met and employees have the necessary equipment and inventory - Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate in order drive a high-level of employee engagement  

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent     

Basic Management Experience - 1 year
