Description

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Food Service Director will oversee the daily foodservice.

The Food Service Director will be responsible for the successful management of our services. 

 

Responsibilities include interaction with the client, customers and employees.

 

The successful candidate will create a culture of healthy and sustainable eating habits, be a curious \u201cfoodie\u201d and excited to implement a new culinary vision.  This leader will be also be an inspiration to his/her team and have the ability to shape the nutritional wellness component of young womens lives.

 

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and maintain procedures for purchasing, receiving, storage, preparation and service of food.
  • Ensure all operating standards are achieved.
  • Coordinate and supervise personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality and cost control, labour, scheduling, staffing and training.
  • Assist front line managers with any operational and staffing issues.
  • Train, develop and mentor the management team and establish succession plans.
  • Ensure that standards for sanitation and food safety are met
  • Assist in menu planning.
  • Prepare business plans, budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor financial operating results in order to achieve company and client objectives.
  • Develop new initiatives and programs to improve service and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for all business sectors.
  • Maintain records to comply with Aramark, and government standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Marketing and Human Resources Programs.
  • Ensure adherence to Aramarks policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to Aramarks Health and Safety Programs.

Qualifications

  • University Degree or College Diploma in hospitality management or related field.
  • Must be able to lead a team of 20-25 staff members
  • 5 years progressive management experience in a similar sized operation, preference given to candidates with hotel background.
  • Previous catering experience in a high volume operation is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical, project planning, and financial management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers, colleagues and staff.
  • All applicants will be required to complete a security clearance.

  • Skilled facilitator who is willing to have the hard conversations.
