Lenox Hill Hospital is looking for a Food Operations Manager  in New York City. NY 

 

This position will serve as assistant director of the department. Ideal candidate will have health-care experience; knowledge of Sodexo's meal delivery systems, retail knowledge of our programs, along with cash management skills.  This position will have direct client interaction and manage the clinical and PSM teams, food quality, tray line service as we run a hybrid EFY Program (Expressly For You). Experience working with an employee union staff of 150 and 5 salaried managers. 

 

The ideal candidate:

 

  • Has a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills as well the ability to work collaboratively
  • Has the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service
  • Have healthcare management experience a plus.
  • ServSafe certified and well-versed in regulatory and sanitation practices
  • Regularly analyze patient satisfaction data and implement additional measurements and action plans in these areas to achieve optimal unit performance.
  • Oversight of the Patient Services area, patient food service production, and diet office
  • Ensuring excellence in service quality and delivery schedules
  • Acting as the liaison between the dietitians, nursing managers and the units. This role will participate in patient safety, patient experience initiatives.
  • Working with the diet office to review and address any patient menu/meal concern. Daily patient meal rounding

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.Key Duties- Establishes a safe work environment

- Assumes General Managers (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 3 years   

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
