Sodexo is seeking an experienced Food Operations Manager 1 for Saint Joseph Hospital located in Lexington, KY. With 433 patient beds, Saint Joseph Hospital is one of the flagship hospitals in the Health System. This manager will be responsible for all retail outlets at the unit, which includes our Green Leaf Cafeteria and Java Joe's Cafe that serves a Starbucks \"We Proudly Brew\" program. Both retail outlets generate over $1 million in revenue annually. This manager will also work collaboratively with our Patient Services Manager in enhancing our patient meal service program and increasing patient satisfaction.

The successful candidate will:

  • motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline (hourly-paid) staff;
  • provide stellar customer service and work collaboratively with the culinary team to enhance our offerings;
  • oversee cash handing processes, and POS programming and maintenance;
  • ensure company food and physical safety programs and standards are followed;
  • conduct retail brand standard audits (in-house and national brands) and patient tray assessments with daily rounding;
  • maintain integrity of retail branded concept standards (national and in-house brands);
  • manage the opening and closing the operation as well daily retail food service operations;
  • ensure all needed signage (including digital) is in place;
  • manage vendor relationships and compliance; and/or
  • maintain all product merchandising, marketing and ordering standards are in place.

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.Key Duties- Establishes a safe work environment

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experienceBasic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
